Mamas & Papas Corby Tindersticks Range Review

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with patterns.  I go through phases when I love them and almost everything I buy has a pattern on it and then I swing the other way and stick to plain colours.  When I decorated O’s nursery during my first pregnancy I was a huge fan of the Mamas and Papas Gingerbread range, but then after looking at it for a couple of years I was longing for something plainer.

I’ve mentioned before that I am a big fan of Mamas and Papas and I was recently contacted to see if I would like to review their new Corby Tindersticks Range.  To be honest, it wasn’t a range that I would have been drawn to on their website.  Having boys I’m automatically drawn to all things baby blue, but I am so glad that my attention was pointed in its direction.

We received the Corby Tindersticks foot muff which fits perfectly onto our Urbo2 pushchair.  I was a little concerned that the pattern wouldn’t quite coordinate with the navy pram but they look great together and the pattern is just so lovely.  I had anticipated purchasing a plain navy foot muff to go with the pram but this is a lot lot nicer.  I love that it’s a little more interesting than just a plain colour and the pictures on it are so cute.  The grey and blue colour means that it isn’t to in your face, and it is actually quite a subtle way to do a pattern.

From a practical point of view it was so easy to fit on the pram and we had it up and running in a couple of minutes.  The muff is unbelievably cosy and we get regular comments on the school run (there’s been a few very chilly ones over the past couple of weeks) about how snug and warm G looks in it.  Plus because he is so comfortable he almost always falls asleep on the way home.

To ensure that G was coordinating perfectly with his pram we were also sent a matching toy and outfit.  He loves the chiming toy and found it very easy to hold, especially with the long thin arms and legs.  It’s also incredibly light meaning he can lift it up and down easily and as with most things at the moment, it was simple to put in his mouth.  It is lovely and soft and suitable from birth.

I’m a bit of a matching geek, I think it’s the maths teacher in me that likes there to be an element of symmetry to things and I loved that the outfits have elements of the foot muff pattern on them.  The trousers and top we were sent had patterned trousers and a lovely t-shirt where the caption (Happy Forever) couldn’t be more perfect for our cheerful little man.  I’ve always found Mamas and Papas clothes to be of the highest quality and these were no exception.  Plus they wash well, and let’s face it, we all know how important that is.  It is worth mentioning that I find the clothes come up a little on the small side, the outfit was 6-9 months and fits my just turned 6 month old well already and I’m not sure they’ll still be fitting him in 3 months time.

There is a lot more to the Corby Tindersticks range, there is a matching high chair which is really lovely and some beautiful wall prints too.  If you are looking for something a bit quirky for your little one this is a great range to take a peek at, and I can promise you it’s even lovelier in the flesh than it is in the pictures.

Disclosure: We were kindly sent these items for review but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
