The Christmas Tag

What’s your favourite Christmas movie?
Can I cheat and have two? Since O was born it has been It’s A Wonderful Life. I’d never seen it until the Christmas just after he was born, and as a newborn he loved to sleep on Mummy so I must have watched it about 5 times that year whilst my baby boy slept on my chest. Every time I watch it I’m reminded of that year so it will always be special.IMG_0462.JPG

My other favourite is Jack Frost, although for some reason I have made it a tradition that this has to be watched between Christmas and New Year. The ending makes me cry everytime!

Do you open your presents on Christmas eve or Christmas morning?
To be honest it’s usually Christmas Day afternoon. We have tea in bed and snuggles with O before bucks fizz and breakfast and then start to open presents around mid-day. I think I like the anticipation of the presents sitting their waiting.
Saying that I’m not sure O will be letting us get away with putting off pressie opening for so long this year.

Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
I have far too many to pick out just one. I love how my mum used to leave fresh turkey baps for me and my brother when we got in from a Christmas Eve night out, and how I always had a stocking on my door Christmas Day morning, up until I moved out of home. And I love that I never once heard my mum & dad put it there!

Favourite festive food?
No, I love all of it!! And as I have no self control when it comes to food I’ll no doubt be putting quite a few extra pounds on over the next couple of weeks.

Favourite Christmas gift?
Last years new handbag was one of my favourites, although hubby tells me he has a big surprise for me this year so that may be topping the list after Thursday!

Favourite Christmas scent?
The Christmas tree when it’s fresh in the house. Just love it!

Do you have any Christmas eve traditions?
I’m not quite sure how it came about but we always go to the Trafford Centre on Christmas Eve. No, we’re not crazy, it’s unusually quiet. We do a spot of last minute shopping and then have lunch before heading home.
The afternoon consists of a couple of drinks in our local and then a bit of a buffet tea. This year is the first one that O really understands leaving something out for Father Christmas and I can’t wait to set out the goodies on our new plate!

What tops your tree?
Usually a ridiculously oversized angel that hubby loves, but O has been asking over and over for a star so I think we may be changing this year.

As a child what was the one gift you always wanted but never received?
The big yellow teapot! Do you remember it? It used to open up and I think it was like a little house inside.
A girl across the road used to have one and I’m pretty sure one of the main reasons I was friends with her was so I could play with her big yellow teapot!

What’s the best thing about Christmas for you?
I know this is a bit cheesy and cliche but spending time with family and friends. Hubby always takes two weeks off for the festive period and its lovely having lazy mornings and busy days spending time with all the people I love the most.

I was tagged by the ever so lovely Sian over at Potty Mouthed Mummy to complete the Christmas Tag, sorry it’s taken so long to finish it! As we’re only two days away from the Big Day I’m not going to tag anyone in particular, but please feel free to complete the Christmas Tag if you want to!
