Dear Teacher, Please Notice Him

Dear Teacher Last week saw my precious boys first official day at your pre-school.  I dropped him off on Thursday lunchtime and walked home feeling like I was missing an arm.  At 3pm I excitedly came to pick him up and asked you the inevitable question, “How did he get on?” Your response was: “Good as gold, we hardly knew he was here!” With those few words my heart sank and have haunted me ever since.  Your words confirmed one of my greatest fears about my little man entering the education system.  I’m a teacher, I know what happens to the good kids. The Joys Of Being Back At Work!

Can I let you into a little secret? Sometimes, at work, I can be a bit of a moaner. Actually, that’s a big, fat lie. I’m a huge moaner! And then because I’m moaning I get stressed. The Christmas Tag

What’s your favourite Christmas movie? Can I cheat and have two? Since O was born it has been It’s A Wonderful Life. I’d never seen it until the Christmas just after he was born, and as a newborn he loved to sleep on Mummy so I must have watched it about 5 times that year whilst my baby boy slept on my chest. Every time I watch it I’m reminded of that year so it will always be special. My other favourite is Jack Frost, although for some reason I have made it a tradition that this has to be…

For me this has meant starting to spend a bit more time in the kitchen and doing some festive baking.  Yesterday I had a go at making something I’ve never made before, a bit of fudge.  Peanut butter fudge! Ingredients 125g butter 500g dark brown sugar 120ml milk 250g crunchy peanut butter 1 vanilla pod (seeds only) 300g icing sugar Method 1.…

When They Grow Up

I honestly believe I am so lucky to be in the job that I am.  Not necessarily because I have a passion for Maths (although I do really like it, GEEK!), and certainly not for the amount of paperwork and target setting that is involved. The main reason I love my job for the vast majority of the time is that I get to work with an amazing group of people every day.  The kids.  Yes, sometimes they’re hard work, sometimes I may swear a little under my breath to keep me sane but they also make me laugh on…
