A few weeks ago I was still trying to decide what theme we wanted to go for with the nursery. I was spending hours browsing Pinterest looking for inspiration and found some beautiful ideas. I managed to narrow it down to my five favourite wallpapers for the nursery, and eventually it came down to a choice of two. Whilst one was undeniably stunning my husband and I both agreed it was a little bit too pricey and so we have decided to go for a woodland theme, aiming for a similar look to this nursery I found on Pinterest.
I adore the Cole and Son woods wallpaper, but am choosing to have the version with the stars intertwined in the trees.
Whilst the wallpaper creates the perfect backdrop the key to achieving the “woodland” look will come down to the accessories (lots more hours lost trawling the internet for inspiration). Here’s a few ideas (and a few purchases) which I’m thinking will style the nursery once the painting and papering is done.
How adorable is this bunny clock from Asda and what a bargain at £12? The little baskets were from TK Maxx and I was planning on putting them in the wardrobe for storage but they are almost too cute to be hidden away.
These prints from Etsy will definitely not be hidden away. I love the mix of greys and orange with the chevron background and the characters are perfect for a nursery.
What a sweet touch this little chap would make on top of the door? I just need to track down where we can find him!
I’d seen this idea on Pinterest and had loved it instantly, and was delighted when the fabulous Rachel over at The Ordinary Lovely wrote a post about how to create your own. This is my little DIY craft project for the Easter holidays, although as we’re still undecided about baby boy’s name I may have to choose another word to use to begin with.
I get a little bit carried away when looking through Pinterest (and my new obsession, scrolling through Etsy) and I have to remind myself that we can’t buy everything I see on the walls, but I may have to make a little room for this bird house night light.
O’s new bedroom furniture is arriving later this week and then it will be all systems go on getting the nursery sorted. With a maximum of 13 weeks to go before our new little man arrives we need to get his room organised and I can’t wait to have the nursery all ready and waiting for him, and to be able to give you a full tour!
Oh, and if he is having a woodland themed nursery it’s only right that he should look the part. I just couldn’t resist buying him these Joules fox trousers to go with his room!
Ah I love all the things you’ve picked out! I want to make one of those garlands too, i saw the Ordinary Life make one and I think it’d look great in Noah’s room. I’m giving it a bit of a refresh at the moment, though I seem to be getting more paint on me than where it needs to be! Xxx #homeetc

I adore the wallpaper, it is ideal for a nursery but not babyish so will adapt as he grows. Pinterest is wonderful for gaining inspiration isn’t it, but 10 mins on there usually lasts an hour I find! #homeetc

Haha, 10 minutes always turns into an hour on Pinterest! xx

I love a woodland theme as it is gender neutral and not too cutesy.
That wallpaper is so magical, I can not wait to see your finished room xx

That’s what I was hoping for, I’m not a fan of too cutesy nurseries with teddy bears on the wall. xx

Ah I love the idea of a woodland nursery- just gorgeous. We had a woodland theme for my eldest daughter years ago in her first big girl room. it is here if you want to have a look although its no where near as lovely as these ones- http://www.mummydaddyandmemakesthree.co.uk/interiors/a-big-girl-room-a-room-tour/Its all changed now anyway. I am thinking of doing our baby boy’s room yellow and grey with a bird theme. We won’t be doing it for a while though as it is our study at the moment so will probably do it when we take him out of our room around six months. x

I popped over and had a look at Mads big girl room, it was gorgeous! I can’t wait to do all the little accessory shopping. Yellow and grey will look lovely for your little boy! xx

Oh I love it all. Etsy is my downfall. You can never have enough foxes. The wallpaper is amazing and it is even better because it’s not something that will be babyish when he gets a bit older. Lovely 🙂

That’s what I’m hoping. We can change some of the bits and pieces to make it a bit older without having to start from scratch! xx

Oh, gorgeous choices. I wish I had seen some of them 5 years ago when we did the eldest’s room. We have white wallpaper with bark pattern embossed on it and a woodland border.
The rabbit clock is so cute, as are the basket. Isn’t TK Maxx fab for finds like that?

What lovely ideas here! We did a woodland themed nursery for our daughter too. I got a lovely wall sticker of a tree and attached shelves to the branches – its grey for all her nik-naks. Good luck – am sure you will make it look great. So glad to have found your lovely blog via #HomeEtc
Oh this is all too cute! Our nursery has a touch of fox in it and I just love the orange pops of colour. Those joggers are adorable! #homeetc
So cute! you can never go wrong with a woodland theme can you. I love all your ideas. The stars in that wallpaper are so cute and make that style a little different too #HomeEtc
