My Favourite Season

If I’m being honest I don’t really have a favourite season.  I think they all have their good and their bad points, and I try to focus on the positives of the season we are currently enjoying.  This is very unlike my husband who always seems to want the season he isn’t in.  In the middle of summer he’s longing for Christmas and come January he’s wishing that the sunny days were here.

So rather than focus on my favourite season I’m going to focus on my favourite things of each season.

Autumn

autumn

  • the fall in temperature allowing the scarves and boots to come back out (and I do love a nice scarf)
  • the gorgeous colours as the leaves change and fall
  • walking through dry, crunchy leaves
  • Halloween and pumpkins
  • my gorgeous boys’ birthday and mine just a couple of days later
  • sunflowers
  • the joys of knitwear

Winter

winter

  • celebrating our wedding anniversary
  • cosy nights in front of the open fire
  • lazy Sunday lunches in the local
  • Christmas
  • spending time with friends and family
  • afternoons spent drinking hot chocolate and eating Bratwurst at the Manchester Christmas markets
  • gingerbread lattes

Spring

spring

  • lighter nights
  • Easter
  • the promise of new beginnings
  • rediscovering the garden
  • puddle jumping (as long as you’re wearing your boots)
  • going out without a coat
  • being able to dry clothes outside

Summer

summer

  • the school holidays
  • our annual trip to Spain
  • BBQ’s
  • letting the boy run around in just his pants
  • being able to leave the back doors open
  • champagne in the garden (oh, and Pimms too)
  • beaches and sandcastles
  • wearing shorts and flip flops
  • the smell of sun tan lotion

Today I will be enjoying shopping for Halloween treats and carving out pumpkins, starting to buy a few pressies for the little mans 3rd birthday and if there’s time grabbing a Gingerbread Latte and starting to think about the festive season as there is always something to look forward to, no matter what time of the year we’re in.

This is wonderful, I think it’s a great attitude to enjoy the season you’re in and not wish your time away. Love the collages 🙂 Thanks so much for linking to #ThePrompt and apologies for being a bit late commenting, Halloween and my in-laws arriving scuppered yesterday!

Aww, you’ve made me really want it to be Summer again now! 🙂 I’m a bit like your husband, although if it could be Autumn forever, that would be no bad thing in my eyes! Loved this Jo! Xxx

What a fantastic idea darling. Focusing on what you love most about each season. I am the same as you I have no favorite because with each one holds an entirely different aspect of life and the things you can do in it during them. Love the photos. I always say I love Spring and Summer and I definitely love the longer days. I always tend to forget the little lovely things about winter, the cosiness of it all and how it goes by way too quickly. Oh and Toffee nut latte for me 🙂 Love your pics, your wedding one is beautiful with the contrast of red roses against your dress.
