My Wardrobe Basics from the January Sales

I’m a bit of a sucker for a sale, I begrudge paying full price for anything so this time of year has me quite excited.  As the thought of hitting overcrowded shops with two little boys brings me out in a cold sweat I find myself doing most of my sales shopping online (mostly in bed with a cup of tea in hand). I’ve learnt from past mistakes, so many past mistakes, not to go for high fashion items in the sales.  They are usually out of fashion before I’ve taken the labels off them and even if they’re not…

Christmas Sparkle with Happiness Boutique

I have a small confession to make, I love clothes, and I love new clothes.  I have a terrible habit of buying something new whenever I have an occasion coming up instead of re-using what is already in my wardrobe.  I made a promise to myself in November that I wouldn’t buy anything new.  There were a few reasons for this: I’ve almost lost all my baby weight and want to wait until I’ve lost those few extra pounds before buying anything new. Whilst I have lost most of the weight I gained having G clothes that haven’t fit me…

Autumn Styling & Stepping Out Of My Comfort Zone

For years I have wanted a fur gilet.  Every year when Autumn has rolled around I have lusted after one in the shops but always chickened out of actually buying one.  I’m not even sure why, just a feeling that it wasn’t quite me.  Maybe a bit too showy, a bit too “look at me”.  Stupid right? House of Frasers Menswear Review

It’s a running joke between my husband and I about the state of his wardrobe.  He’s a man who thinks he’s being colourful if he’s wearing white.  The rest of his clothes are mostly blue, black or grey.  I have actually lost count of how many grey jumpers he owns.  Last Christmas I bought him a cardigan to add a splash of brightness, it went down like a lead balloon (and still remains in the bottom of my wardrobe as I missed the deadline to send it back). When I was recently contact by House of Fraser to review an…

My Denim Dress Obsession

I’ve always been a fan of denim (who isn’t?) but recently it seems to have developed into something more.  Every time I go into a shop I’m drawn to the denim section.  I’m steering clear of jeans at the moment, my mum tum is not quite ready for those yet, and skirts can be a bit hit and miss as to how well they fit, but denim dresses, I just can’t get enough!  Maybe it’s because I’m on maternity leave and without having to look formal for work I’m embracing a more casual style. Despite already having three denim dresses…
