One Little Boy and His Best Friends

When I was pregnant I was a little concerned as to how the dogs would react to a baby in the house.  Whilst our eldest Molly is very laid back and would happily spend most of her day snoozing in the sun , Roxy is a completely different character.

She can be the most affectionate dog in the world but she is a barker and isn’t good with strangers.  She’s a nervy little thing, and wants to be close to you at all times.

When we first brought O home they stayed well away.  I felt sorry for them, as they had gone from being the centre of our world to being a little bit pushed out.  However over the past 4 years they have grown used to our little man and he adores them, especially Roxy.

They really have become best friends and Roxy loves the attention that O gives her.  She loves the strokes and even the cuddles he gives her.  O loves to give her treats and help prepare her dinner, and will throw her toys for her for hours.

Molly was the one we always thought would be more indifferent to him, that’s just her way, but for the past few months she has taken to sleeping outside of his door.  Like a little guardian and it really melts my heart, and does make me giggle that she seems to prefer him when he’s asleep.

This week the dogs have been staying at my in-laws as we’re having a little bit of decoration done in the house and O has told me every day how much he misses them.  I guess I didn’t need to worry too much about how they’d all get on after all.

Oh this is lovely! Love him having a little doggy guardian outside his door. It’s lovely seeing as they get older how they bond with animals x

Oh such a lovely post. I completely understand. Doggies really are wonderful companions. Our furry baby makes our little family complete. So so cute that your doggy sleeps outside of the room! #TheOrdinaryMoments x

That is absolutely adorable that he has a little dog sleeping outside his room. It’s things like this that make me want to get a dog so badly. My husband has said we have to wait until we have a bigger house. I think it’s so lovely and also important for children to grow up with pets. x

Aww such a cure post. I think I spoiled our dog and she hated Boo when she was born. Some neighbours took her in, played babies crying to her and sent her back a changed dog 6 weeks later.i never thought we would have a baby so Rosie was my baby.
Thankfully they get on great now. It just takes time.
So ,overly that your little man missed the pooches. I’d say that is job well done 🙂

That photo is just gorgeous. We have cats. Oh sigh, we have a cat, now, and the kids love her but there is nothing like watching the bond between a dog and children. Beautiful. love the light too x

Aww, thanks Suzanne, it has been a bit Sianed. She did the new theme and the details and I tinkered around with the menu and the header (you know, the easy stuff). Still got a few more things to sort but really liking the new look. xx
