Extension News 5 {We’re Home}

130 days after we started our extension, 9 weeks after moving the family out, 3 weeks after splitting up and living in separate houses we are back home in our house.  Despite having no furniture, no TV, only one usable bed between us (luckily it’s a super king), no curtains in that usable bedroom and enough boxes to make the most epic of fortresses for the boys we returned home.

There is still an awful lot of work going on in the house this week.  The beautiful herringbone floor is taking day and days to be complete, the lights in the back room should be going up as I type this and the less said about the garden at this point the better.  It will be gorgeous when it’s done but that still looks a long way away.

Despite all the work ongoing, and the boxes, and the lack of a tv it is so lovely to be back in our own space.  It’s quite a strange feeling coming home to a house that is so different from the one you left.  It does feel like we have a brand new house, but one that we had made just for us.

I’m still trying to organise the inside of the house and decide where everything should live in the new kitchen but the outside is complete and I love looking back at where we started to where we are now.  You will have seen these pictures before on earlier posts but I love to see it altogether so please indulge me.

From where we were…

To where we are now.

To say we are delighted with it is an understatement, I’ve been having pinch me moments since we moved in that this is now our house.  I’m going to be very busy for the next few months getting the inside straight but I look forward to sharing that with you.

In the meantime follow me on Instagram for some sneak previews of the interior and garden updates.
