Five Under £5 – April

I’ve loved reading these posts by Julia at Rainbeaubelle and other bloggers for the past couple of months so I made a little promise to myself that I would try to join in.  I have to admit I completely forgot about it until I saw a couple of posts pop up and when I thought about it I did have a few things that I could include in a post so here goes.

I’m not too sure if this first one is cheating as technically it isn’t under £5, but a fiver exactly!  O spotted them in Marks and Spencers last weekend and in a vain attempt to be a bit crafty I treated him to them.  I made the windmill and left O in charge of decorating, it took all my willpower not to take control but he was so pleased with himself he insisted we take it to my mums to show Nana.

We are at the stage where we are getting quite a few birthday party invites so when I saw this pack of assorted cards in the sale in Paperchase I couldn’t resist.  I’m always rushing out to buy a card at the last minute so hopefully these will mean I’m a lot more organised.  A really lovely selection and a bargain for £3.25.

I can’t leave Paperchase without treating myself to one of their postcards and this rhino one made me giggle and for 70p I will be popping it in my dressing room to make me smile in a morning, especially whilst I am super curvy at the moment!

My last two items are a £1 bunch of Daffodils from Sainsburys, not the most exciting of items but I love having a bunch on the kitchen windowsill.  With the rainy weather we’ve been having here they’re a reminder that we are actually in Spring.

Finally, the ducky pen.  This is part of a little experiment when I return to work after the Easter holidays.  One of the ladies in our department has a theory that pupils are more likely to return your pen if it’s a decent one.  I go through so many pens during a school year because the kids borrow them and forget to return them at the end of the lesson so lets see if ducky makes it back to me.  Hopefully in the three weeks I have left I’ll be able to hang onto him.  He was a little £1.99 treat from our local independent cafe/toy shop.

There we go, five little things fur under £5 which have made me smile and I’ve loved sharing with you.  I’m already looking forward to next month.
