As O has got older I find myself spending more and more time outside. My little boy just loves being in the open air, regardless of the weather. When I was contacted by Trespass with the opportunity to review an item from their website I was excited and a little bit nervous at the same time.
Being a mum to an active three year old means that you need clothes that are practical, but as my blog name suggests I really don’t want to turn into a middle-aged frump and sometimes I have moments when I look in the mirror and think, “Jo, what are your wearing?” and then promptly change outfits at least twice before I’m happy.
I was a little worried that I would struggle to find something that was practical and stylish at the same time, I’m not really an outdoor activity clothes wearer, but I needn’t have worried. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised at how much choice there was on there and the difficult part was narrowing it down to just one. I’ve still got my eye on a couple of coats that I may pop back and treat myself to.
In the end I was won over by the Chorley waterproof jacket. Not too thick and a great length makes it perfect for Spring and I fell in love with the red anchor lining. Such a lovely feature and I loved the contrast with the main colour navy. They also do the jacket in cream with a navy lining but my Mummy head though light jacket and a mucky toddler were not going to mix well!
The jacket arrived within a couple of days and it was perfect timing as we were off to Wales for the weekend. Great, I thought, the perfect opportunity to get some lovely photos on the beach. Well, that didn’t happen but on the plus side the terrible weather we had meant I really got to road test my new jacket.
I can definitely guarantee it is waterproof and it also kept me very well protected from the gale force winds that were battering the Llyn Peninsula. I was really pleased at just how protective it was for such a lightweight jacket, and there was plenty of room even with a jumper worn underneath.
The two huge pockets also meant that there was plenty of room to stick my phone in and a few bits and bobs for O so I didn’t need to take a bag, perfect if you are off on a walk and don’t want to be carrying one around with you.
Trespass would never have been a brand I would have thought to look at when choosing clothes, especially jackets but I have been completely won over. Practical, comfortable and most certainly not frumpy!
Disclamer: I was sent the jacket for the purpose of the review but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I love that jacket, the colour really suits you and the lining is beautiful! x
