I was recently contacted by My 1st Years and asked if I would choose an item from their website to review. I was delighted to have been asked as they have some absolutely gorgeous personalised baby clothes, blankets and toys (and much more besides) with the added bonus that they can have your little ones name added to it.
As the name would suggest a lot of the items are aimed at younger babies and toddlers, and as O is now approaching 2 and a half he seemed too old for a few things. Although, that didn’t stop me wondering if I could squeeze his chunky legs into a couple of super cute babygrows.
I have a bit of a thing for toddler cutlery, especially now we’re past the plastic weaning spoon stage, and when I found the Happy Apple Spoon and Fork set I knew O (and me) would love them. Plus I loved that I could have his name engraved on the handles!
I agreed the details on Thursday afternoon, and the parcel arrived on Saturday morning. Impressive delivery time for a personalised item. My 1st Years send all orders in a free luxury gift box and as I’m a sucker for gorgeous packaging I was immediately impressed.
I was even more impressed when I opened up the box to find the very cute fork and spoon set.
The name engraving is simply gorgeous and adds a really special touch to the set.
The engraving hasn’t come out too clearly on the photo so you will need to trust me when I say it’s lovely!
O is chuffed to bits with his new fork and spoon and for the first half an hour refused to put them down. Since they arrived on Saturday he has insisted on using them every meal time. On a practical note the apple shape ends make them really easy for a toddler to hold and use and, maybe I’m imagining it but, we seem to have had less Weetabix spillages in the past few days!

I am delighted with our cutlery set and I’ve already got my eye on these lovely PJ’s for my boy’s 3rd birthday. Gosh how lovely to receive free items – I have to say my experience with My 1st Years wasn’t so pleasant as obviously they didn’t want to impress me – my item arrived late, missed the event I required it for and the fabric of the towel was cheap.
