Love The Little Things #8

This week has been half term so a lovely week has been spent away from school and enjoying spending time with hubby and O.  The highlights of the week have been:

Read On Wednesday Little O went to my mums as he normally does so I had a day to myself.  I trotted off to Costa for lunch and settled down with a Gingerbread Latte, a Chicken & Bacon toastie and a copy of Bella.  Yes, it’s a pretty crap mag but I got to read it in peace, heaven!

Watched The Brit Awards and felt about 56, but still loved it!  And is it just me or is Kate Moss now starting to show her age?

Heard Bastille and Pompeii playing at the Brits, I love that song.  Hubby got me into it and its now one of my faves.  Not sure he appreciated me singing along though (honestly, I can barely sing a note!)

Made We’ve been busy this week and as week and as well as making my first risotto, me and O made a chocolate swirl cake together which although was a tiny bit burnt it still tasted pretty good.

Before it got a little bit burnt in the oven!

Wore I’ve been feeling a bit frumpy recently and feel as if everything in my wardrobe is grey or black so in an attempt to add a bit of colour for spring I treated myself to a lovely new top from Next.  I’ve not actually had a chance to wear it yet, but will be on Saturday at one of O’s friends birthday parties.

And lastly… We had a belated Valentines Day celebration last Sunday, and with the grandparents on babysitting duties we headed off to a fancy restaurant.  We started off with champagne, followed by a lovely 3 course meal with wine, and coffee.  So lovely to have a bit of couple time, plus my father in law dropped us off and picked us up, sparing us the expense of a taxi!

Oooh Kate Moss! I often think when I see photos of her that having a lived a life like she has, they must be retouched to look like that. I’ve not seen footage of her for a while though…

The Brits made me feel old too, and YES!! about Kate Moss, I thought I was the only one who thinks she is incredibly over-rated.
I quite like reading those kind of magazines every now and then. Sounds like a nice bit of me time for you xx

I love Bastille too, so many great songs. I missed the Brits, but everyone who’s talked about it has referenced how old it made them feel so I’m quite pleased I didn’t watch it! 😉
    Thanks for linking up xxx

I haven’t watched the Brits yet, I’m hoping to catch them before they disappear off ITV player – although I’ll probably end up skipping most of it as I won’t recognise anyone! haha …

Your cake looks delicious, I used to make swirly cakes all the time but it’s been a while – my oven isn’t really up to cake baking anymore x
