Love The Little Things #7

How can it be week 7 already? This week has been exhausting. Work has been mad busy, hubby had been away for 2 nights and the weather has been terrible! Looking forward to half term next week and (hopefully) lots of lie-ins.

Read
After reading another Love The Little Things post I had to order Dogger for my little boy. I loved that story as a kid and reading it to O has brought back some lovely memories. Funnily enough, I’d been thinking about the book a few weeks ago but hadn’t been able to remember what it was called.

Watched
The Towering Inferno, I love that film. I went to my mum and dads on Sunday afternoon and it was on Film4. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen it and I know the plot inside out but every time it comes on I’m gripped.

Heard
Yesterday I was listening to my little boy having his first telephone conversation with his daddy. So cute hearing him shout “I love you daddy” down the phone followed by lots of giggles.

Made
Tenuous link alert, but this week I’ve made the move to change my blog over to being self hosted. I’m currently waiting for the hosters to migrate my blog over but very excited at having made the move.

Wore
A bargain new dress from Florence and Fred. £11 on the sale rack for a black woollen dress which looks great with tights and my tan boots. Quite chuffed with that little find!

And lastly…
With hubby being away my mum and dad invited me round for tea last night so I wouldn’t have to cook for myself. There’s something so wonderful about going home to where you grew up and being looked after. Thanks mum and dad!

Oh bless your little one, first few conversations are amazing. i wish I could have recorded my son’s. Even now I am in awe of his funny sayings and how he seems so grown up sometimes when he is chatting away to someone. Time goest too fast. Lovely post, of your little loves. #LittleLoves

Awwww the phone conversation sounds so cute. I think it’s lovely that you bought a book you read as a child, my sister in law did the same for my 4 year old for Christmas, she bought him a big pack of books that she loved as a child.
Well done with the bargain dress find, I love clothes from F&F, especially their clothes for children xx

I’m in the middle of reading a very evocative article in the LRB about what it means to come home, sketching pictures of times gone by that were different countries we can never return to. Sometimes I have glimpses of that past when I go back home but sadly I will never fully feel like that, it’s just not like that for us.

Having said that, I really want it to be like that for my children and hope I will b able to give them that precious feeling of coming home when they are adults.
