Love The Little Things #36

My first week back is over and it’s never as bad as you think, is it? But I always forget how completely exhausting that first week is. It’s been lovely to catch up with the classes I taught last year and meet my new ones too. A lot of this week has been getting back up to speed with work stuff but I have had a bit of time to appreciate some little things.

Read For the second half of the summer holidays I’ve not been able to log on to my work emails so it was a lovely surprise to find two emails from a couple of my sixth formers when I did check them on Monday.

Watched We watched the Tower Heist last Sunday with Ben Stiller. A bit silly but perfect for a bit of funny on the last night before term.

Heard A lot of silence this week. You can tell it’s the first week back because the kids are all working in silence (from their own choice). It won’t last!

Made Last Sunday I made my dad’s recipe for a cooked ham. We usually only make it at Christmas but hubby bought it whilst it was on offer. It was yummy.

We’ve been eating it most of the week and what was left I made into a chicken and ham pie for dinner last night.

Wore Nothing too exciting as it’s been back to work wear but I have been trying to dress a little bit smarter for work for the past couple of years, so it’s been nice to slip a dress and pair of heels on after being more casual for the past 6 weeks.

And lastly…Summer has made a bit of a reappearance this week so on my day off me and O headed out for the day, we spent a lovely morning at a local park; playing, riding the mini Thomas train and visiting the kiddie zoo. Rounding the day off with a trip to Pizza Hut. Perfect mummy and son day.

Such sweet wee letters JoJo! It makes it all worthwhile when you get lovely feedback like that, doesn’t it? Hope you are adjusting back into the swing of work this week – it always took me about a fortnight to come to terms with the fact Summer was over. It still does!! 🙂 Aww, your day with O sounds so lovely – we are big fans of a zoo too! Have a lovely weekend chicky xx

What lovely emails to receive from your students. It must be lovely knowing that you are making such a difference in their lives. Tower Heist is a silly film but as you said great fun. Ben Stiller does make the funniest and silliest films. It sounds like you had a lovely day off spent with O. Perfect! I hope your second week is going well. Hugs Mrs H xxxx #littleloves
