Love The Little Things #25 & #26

At the moment it really doesn’t feel like there are enough hours in the day. It’s my own fault because back in March when I got offered a contract to do exam marking it sounded so far in the future and I always forget just how time consuming it is. I’ve got about two weeks of it left to do and then I can kick back and look forward to the summer hols.

Anyways, please forgive me for combining the past 2 weeks. I kept trying to start last weeks post but then something kept cropping up and it never ended up getting done so you’ve got a double whammy this week.

Read I’ve loved reading everyones Britmums posts this week. I was so jealous seeing all the fab pics coming through on Twitter and Instagram (especially the #littleloves crew), it looked like everyone was having a wonderful time. I loved PottyMouthedMummy’s very honest post (I think I would have felt very similar) and LittleWoodLife‘s (although I’m going to be missing you Em whilst your on your break). Oh, and can someone please DM me who was the keynote speaker talking about sleeping their way to the top, it’s been driving me bonkers all week!

Watched Football!! My husband is a huge footie fan so it’s been on in the background since the World Cup started.

I’ve taken a bit of time out to go and watch my own little footie star get some practice in. Watch out Stevie G, O’s after your job!

Heard I’m loving the song Budapest my George Ezra. It’s a perfect driving in your car whilst the sun is shining kind of song and hasn’t been played enough on the radio for my liking.

Made We’ve been busy plan making and after living in our house for 5 years we’ve been thinking about a few tweaks to have a little bit of a freshen up. We’re starting off focusing on the garden and are hoping to turn our quite big shed into something of a more family friendly summer room where we can chill out on summer days. It’s probably going to be a couple of years before completion but I am so excited already. I want a comfy corner couch where I can read a book and watch O in the garden. The Big Mr wants a bar and somewhere to hang his signed Man Utd shirt. I see trouble ahead when it comes to decorating it!

Wore Nothing exciting at all I’m afraid, although I did wear my necklace from my last Little Loves, just with jeans and a fairly plain top and it looked lovely. It’s Prom Night next week so I’m excited to have an opportunity to get dressed up. I promise next weeks Wore will be a lot more glamourous!

And lastly…This week saw the last of the external exams for my kids so they’ve been popping in returning books. I have a small class of three Year 13 class of Further Mathematicians and they found me on Tuesday to give me a card, some flowers and a bottle of wine (they know me so well). I’m not sure if the wine was deliberately chosen but it definitely made me smile.

Ahhh bless you, exam time must be so busy!!! Eeek roll of summer vacation. Love a DIY project. I look forward to seeing the steady ongoings of it and of course the final end! Before and after photos are so great. Missed you last week but glad you are back with a double feature. #littleloves

Great song choice and I’m feeling a bit envious of your planned summer room right now – sounds like a lovely dream to me! I can imagine the exam marking must be really tiring and time consuming… It has been fun reading all the Britmums posts hasn’t it? (If a little bittersweet for not having been right there in the action!). I’ll miss The Little Wood too! Have a fab weekend and don’t work too hard, my love 🙂 X

The speaker was Emma Freud JoJo – she is Richard Curtis’ partner, and a big squeeze at Comic Relief. She was very funny, but her message was perhaps not gaged appropriately for the audience – a few questionable morals!! We really missed you last weekend-it would have been amazing to meet you. Definitely some time in the future poppet! Love your garden plans and how sweet your little pupils have been – makes it all worthwhile! I’ll be following your posts all through the Summer lovely, do stay in touch! Xxx

Was such a shame you weren’t at Brit Mums would have been lovely to chat again. I loved both Emma’s and Sian’s posts on it, they were some of my favourites and I agree with both. Bet you can’t wait for summer holidays! x

Love George Ezra, cannot wait for him to release an album.
The keynote speaker was Emma Freud and I’m going to be controversial here and say that I don’t think the ‘sleeping her way to the top’ thing was as big a deal as so many bloggers have said it is. She was being tongue in cheek. Well, that’s how I took it anyway!
OOoh look forward to seeing how the summer room/bar comes along! xx

Best of luck with the correcting! Many of my teacher friends do this over the summer, and curse it when they are doing it!!! I too was very jealous of all the girls pictures showing up on my feed….there’s always next year!xx

At least marking exams is better than taking them! Love the idea of making a summer house. Is on my wish list for my next house (when I have a garden big enough!).

I love that George Ezra song, it’s so summery! We’ve been in our new house almost 6 weeks and I’m surprised Mr M hasn’t suggested a bar in the garage yet ;D x

Ooh yes a comfy garden corner sounds fabulous, my friends have a Thai inspired corner, a huge sofa underneath a canopy, Thai covers to ly on. It’s lush. Good luck with the rest of the marking x

Ooh hope things calm down soon! It seems like it’s that time of year!
I love that your students got you a bottle of wine – how lovely! x
