Love The Little Things #23

Friday seems to be coming round more quickly as each week passes.  After last weeks holiday in the sun it was back to earth with a bump and straight back to work.  We are entering the last half term before the summer hols and as Year 11 and Year 13 have officially left (although they are still popping in for revision sessions) work is a lot less hectic than it has been.  The added bonus is that I now only teach first period one day a week so for the rest of the time it doesn’t matter if I’m rushing in just in time for morning briefing, which means I get to spend more time with the family in a morning without the mad rush to get out.

This week I’ve been loving:

Read I’m about two thirds of the way through my second holiday book and it is getting more intriguing with every page.  I was a bit unsure of it when I started as my mum gave it to me, I usually like to choose my own books, but it’s really starting to grip me.

Sadly without the view though this week (or the wine!)

Watched I love people watching! Last Saturday whilst we were still in Spain we headed over to a little town we always go to as it’s their market day.  To be honest we have given up walking round the market but there is a lovely little café opposite a beautiful church that we go to for lunch.  On a few occasions there has been a wedding in the church which has been delightful to watch but this time it was a mass confirmation.  All the little girls were dressed in their little princess dresses and the boys in their suits, with their proud families watching.  O fell asleep whilst we were there so it was a perfect excuse to drink coffee and wine and watch the excitement. image Heard It feels like I haven’t really heard anything this week, despite having the radio on to and from work, I feel like I’ve been driving on auto-pilot.  I have heard O chatter constantly and I am loving how much his speech is developing.  He is such a great little talker and I love the conversations we are starting to have.  I’m not loving how when I was getting dressed this week my little monkey came out with “that’s a big bum Mummy!” Cheers kid!

Made A start on our new healthy lifestyle.  So far we have cut out breads and potato, trying to eat a lot more fresh food, and I’ve even got off my lazy (big) bum and headed out for two runs since Monday.  Hoping to lose the extra half a stone I’ve been carrying round the past few years. Wish me luck, I have a severe lack of will power when it comes to sticking at healthy living!

My morning cup of tea substitute, it's actually very refreshing!

Wore Slightly depressingly I’ve had to get my winter tights back out.  With the weather this week I’ve had no chance to show off my bit of a tan.  Hurry up sun, or my tan will be completely gone!

And lastly…The complete highlight of this week was my little man doing his first wee wee in his potty.  He was so determined to do it that he sat there for about 15 minutes before anything came out.  He has proudly told anyone who will listen about his wee wee, and we’ve been out to buy big boy pants in preparation for proper potty training.  He may be ready, although I’m not sure I am! So there we go, another week over.  See you all next Friday, and I hope you all have a fabulous week!

Where is the sun Jo??! Totally the same here, though my tan is most definitely out of a bottle at the moment. Raging! 🙂 Once again, a big thumbs up for Mr O – so clever! Enjoy getting acquainted with hand gel and public toilets my sweet – every new stage brings it’s own joys, doesn’t it?! Have the loveliest weekend poppet xx

I try to avoid public toilets at all costs, so this next phase is terrifying. We’ll be that car pulled over at the side of the road whilst the kid does a wee, dreading it.
Not even a hint of sun here today, the walk to the pub for lunch looks like it’s going out the window xx

Love that you were still on holiday. I am a huge people watcher. Mr P and I love doing it on holiday while people walk by and have a drink and take it all in. I wrote my book while people watching and just picked different characters and features of people walking by. It was great. Good for you on the new healthy lifestyle. I am sure giving it a go too but I am so quick to want pizza or a burger on the weekend followed by oreo cookie ice cream or snacks. I know no self control We must motivate each other. Oh well done on the potty training!!!

I am a massive people watcher too, I need to learn to be far more covert. Hope you have lots of sun today #littleloves x

No sun at all here today.

I may have been a bit premature with the excitement, since then despite sitting on his potty for 15 minutes at a time there’s still been no more wee wee. Oh well, gotta keep trying! x

I don’t know if it’s an age thing but I love watching brides heading to church, imagine it’s even nicer sitting in the sun sipping on a coffee whilst doing it.

I always struggle to thing of the Watched header, but people watching is a great one! I am great at it as I’m so nosey!! I went on holiday back in April but I’m still missing it, so I know how you feel this week! #littleloves

Lawd, people watching is so much fun (guilty pleasure for everyone- whether they chooses to admit it or not!!) Good luck with the health kick, & i’ll be here if you need any encouragement 🙂 XX

It was sunny on Sunday when we got back 🙂 just a pity it’s been a bit downhill since then. It’s shocking here today, chucking it down with rain.
I may very well need your encouragement, I fell off the wagon last night and had a chippy tea. It was good though, but back to healthiness today! xx
