Love The Little Things #20

After the fab highs of last week, this one had a lot to live up to, and to be honest it really hasn’t managed it.  It’s generally been a bit of a meh week, one of those you just get through, but there are holidays a coming so the next few weeks will be better.

Anyway, after a pretty ordinary week, let’s focus on the good things.

Read Slight cheat as I haven’t really read this yet but been stocking up on books ready for the hols.  Now that O is in his own seat and we have on site grandparent babysitters I’m a bit hopeful I may get to read a couple of books and I picked this up from work for the bargain price of 50p!  Looking forward to getting stuck in.

Watched On Saturday night we abandoned Eurovision and watched a film on Channel 4 instead, Man On A Ledge. We’d rented it on iTunes for a holiday once (on a friends recommendation) and with one thing and another never got a chance to sit down and watch it.  It was brill!  Had me hooked from the very first moments and I loved the outcome.

Heard A very cheesy one, but with Eurovision being on on Saturday Abba’s Waterloo was being played on the radio.  I love this song.  It was our college Karaoke song, and one that always had me up dancing at uni (yes, I am that cool!)  I ended up driving round the block a few times to hear it in full.

Made *Tenuous link alert* I made a trip to our local charity shop, and was pretty chuffed with my findings.  I picked up a gorgeous Wedgewood Christmas tree decoration (roll on December) and the prettiest little tea set ever, perfect photo prop material!

Wore My rain coat on what turned out to be a very wet trip up to the Lake District.  Luckily my little man thought the big puddles were all part of the fun!

And lastly…the complete highlight of my week! My mum and dad look after O on a Wednesday so I arrived to pick him up to find these little treats that my parents had bought for me.  When I asked what the reason was (it’s really not the norm for them to do this sort of thing), their response was “for just being you!”  So after what had been a pretty mundane week this gave me a massive, very much needed, boost!

See you next Friday, little loves. Anyone fancy a choccie? xx

Aw what a lovely thing for your parents to do! Unexpected pressies are always the best and most meaningful. I loved Man on a Ledge too – I’m a sucker for a heist film though! I really must take a closer look in our local charity shops too – there are clearly some treasures out there to be discovered. X #LovetheLittleThings

I have to be in a bit of a rummage mood to go into charity shops, otherwise I walk in and walk straight back out. Great feeling when you get a bargain find 🙂

The only problem is finding somewhere to store them, feels like our house is bursting at the seams at the minute. Serious declutter planned for the summer hols.
Jen, your photos are gorgeous. They make me want to pop round for a cup of tea and a natter.
Can’t wait to start my book 😉 xx

Ooh, that book looks like a perfect holiday read – I’m stocking up too, I find my only real reading-time happens on holidays now! Your mum and dad are so sweet, bless them – such a lovely thought! It’s been raincoats all round over here too! The sun is shining today though, and it’s school Sports Day, so I’m hopeful it’ll stay dry for it! Have a great weekend lovely Jo! Xx
