So there it was, the summer holidays, and now they’re over. Well, almost over except for a bank holiday weekend. I think this year it has gone by quicker than ever and, I probably say this every year, I’m just not ready to go back. I have loved spending all my days with O and he has loved it too. I’m dreading the first nursery run next week as I know he is going to be adamant he doesn’t want to go. I predict a teary drive to work on Tuesday.

This one made me giggle this week as when I was tidying out our old office I found the holiday breakdown I’d written for our girlie holiday to Ibiza when we finished our A-levels. I’m not sure what was more surprising, that I still had it or that you could get a two week holiday in Ibiza for £350!
Fish! Yesterday I went to the Blue Planet Aquarium with O and my friend and her little boy. The boys loved seeing all the fish and the sharks, and I fell a little bit in love with the mini turtle/tortoises (I’m not sure which, off to google the difference).
We did have a lovely time but it cost £50 for the four of us, and that was with one child going free as a very nice lady in the queue behind us gave us a free ticket, we walked round it twice and the boys had a play on the slides and we were out in just over an hour. I’m not sure I’ll be rushing back any time soon.
Heard
Lots of thunder and lightning (okay, we didn’t hear the lightning but we did see it). Last Saturday night we had some pretty amazing storms near us and it was quite exciting to watch. O was fascinated and we let him stay up a bit later than he would do normally to see them. After they had passed and we put him to bed he made us promise to wake him up to watch again if they came back.
New socks, I love these ones from Tesco, so bright and colourful, and they had a pair with pineapples on too which are my favourites. Unfortunately I managed to spill bean juice on them so they didn’t make the picture!
On Monday we had no plans so jumped in the car and went for a walk around a little village near us. We go there quite often but to either one of the restaurants or a walk around the dam and it was years since I had just pottered around the place. It really is so pretty and we found the cutest little cafe that was inside a canal boat. O loved it so we will be returning.
This pretty much sums up how I’m feeling this week.
Have a lovely week!
Wow two weeks in Ibiza for £350!! I wonder how much it would cost now 🙂 hmm but think we’ll give the planetarium a miss!

It was good, but a bit too pricey for how long we were in there. And we had to pay for parking!! x

The cafe was adorable, and they do afternoon tea cruises! Is it wrong that a little part of me is dreading the return to school and stroppy teenagers? x

Ha you finding that list made me chuckle as a friend posted a time hop picture of me yesterday making a comment about me being a hoarder and how I’m likely to still have the very very old camera that was in the picture (yep). I can’t believe the summer ha have come to an end either-way too fast and I’m not ready to get back to routine just yet. The aquarium looks fab but it’s so sad how expensive everything seems to be! Have a wonderful bank hiday weekend x

Oh lovely. I think it’s always tougher when we’ve had lots of concentrated time with them. Sending you lots of hugs for Tuesday. That quote bought a little tear.
Laughing at that holiday planning and that you still have it. I am very shocked at the cost of that holiday, what a bargain!! Have a gorgeous bank holiday my lovely xx

And we paid extra for 3 rooms instead of 2 because it wasn’t worth the argument of which couple of girls to split up! It would have been cheaper again without that. xx

The cost of attractions really is quite expensive I think, but hopefully O enjoyed it. I hope you manage the transition back to school/work as easily as possible. I love the summer, but I kind of miss the routine too. School day summers in Ibiza were something else though… Foam party madness.. seriously, I suspect that stuff was toxic eughhh xx

Hubby always likes getting back to a routine when I’m back at work, I think that’s because I get to stay in bed whilst he’s out working. O did enjoy it and it was lovely to see how excited he was by all the different sights! xx

The photo of O watching the storms is just beautiful. It sounds like a lovely week and I love idea of a cafe on a boat! Hope you’re having a lovely weekend x
My girls love the Blue Planet Aquarium but I completely agree with you it’s really expensive especially when it doesn’t actually take that long to look around.
I think we’re all a bit emosh at the moment aren’t we? Hope next week goes smoothly for you lovely xx

What a gorgeous village that is near you! I love exploring little villages out in the countryside. Ha ha I worked in a travel agents after leaving school in 1997 and I remember when holidays were that cheap – although back then they were expensive of course! Those were the days! Now you’d be lucky to get a week for that! Great socks! Hope O enjoys nursery next week x

Loving that quote Jo – it really sounds like you’ve had such a precious time together. Hope the new term isn’t too much of a shock. Lovely pictures! I have a soft spot for tortoises and turtles too! I’ve only know the difference for a few months…they are so sweet! x

Your holiday list made me laugh. I also went to Ibiza day after A Levels but in 1986 and the cost was £175! I had £125 spending money and took frozen chips with us-lol. Those were the days! Have a lovely weekend!
