It’s been a long time since we went on a package holiday. Actually we’ve only been on one other together as we usually holiday at my in-laws villa and in our pre-parenting days we would add to that with a European city break.
I’ve never really been a fan of them and when our holiday kicked off with a 3 hour delays and standing in more queues than is reasonable at 5am in a morning it was not going well.
However, with a few Proseccos to cheer me up the holiday started and it only got better from there on in.
Read
To be honest, not as much as I normally do on holiday. Usually I would be a little bit sad about that but I’m not because we were too busy having fun to be sitting around reading.
I did finish The Husbands Secret, which was such a good book, I’d definitely recommend. I’ve made a start on The Wrong Knickers, it had me giggling straight away so I’m looking forward to having some time to finish it over the next few weeks.
Watched
I’ve spent a lot of time the past week watching the beautiful scenery we were surrounded by, it was so pretty. I love being by the sea and sitting next to the water with a glass of Rose whilst the sun goes down is getting pretty close to perfection.
Wore
Just before we left I bought myself a hat. I spotted it in New Look, tried it on, loved it and then put it back as I wasn’t sure I would wear it.
The next day I popped back to get it and I have worn it every day on hols, and I didn’t burn my head. Yeah!!
The 3 hour delay also gave me a bit of time to do some last minute shopping at the airport and I picked up a gorgeous swimsuit from Accessorize.

The photo doesn’t really do it justice but I’m not brave enough to put a picture of me wearing it on here, sorry!
Heard
O asking every morning, “Mummy, is is morning time?” before rushing out of bed ready to start the day. As a family of three we had a double room with a put up bed for O. Although it was a little bit cramped I loved waking up to O’s little face next to mine every morning.
Made
Please excuse the cheesy link, but we made some lovely memories whilst enjoying the sunshine. I’d forgotten how much fun it was to spend an afternoon playing in the pool and O loved playing in the water. I must have spent about an hour diving for the toys he kept dropping for me to go and retrieve.
And Lastly…
For the past week, other than posting a few pics on Instagram I haven’t really checked much social media or bloggy stuff at all and it was so refreshing. After chatting to hubby, and spending time as a family, I realised how much we have started to neglect each other as a couple and perhaps as a family too. Over the past couple of months I’ve lost that loving feeling when it comes to my blog and have debated whether it is time to walk away from it all.
After spending two years together (me and the blog) it feels a bit too final to do that but I’m not entirely too sure what the future holds for Not A Frumpy Mum. I do have a few things to finish off and wrap up and then who knows…I may rediscover the love I used to have for my little space or I may not and actually I feel okay about that.
Looks like you had a fab holiday! Apart from the horrid delay of course…however it allowed time for Prosecco and shopping! I love a package holiday…i wish so much i was off away this year, but with buying the house and a third baby in the last year, mr banker says no 🙁 Next year! i will NOT go without a holiday next year! 🙂 I hope you rediscover your mojo! Good luck, no matter what happens xx

Sounds like you had a lovely holiday and I am in love with that hat.
It can be hard to find a balance between it all and if you’re not enjoying it right now I guess that says a lot. If I can do anything to help let me know xxx

Aargh – you’re torturing us with all this holiday talk and pics 🙂 I definitely think that I would like to do less of the package holidays though – the husband and I did a handful before we had children and now I really regret that we didn’t do something more interesting and adventurous! At least I had loads of more interesting holiday before we got together though so its not so bad. If we had the money I wouldn’t mind the Mark Warner experience mind you! It looks like you have enjoyed it though – it does work with little children though as you know where you stand. Hope you have a lovely weekend X #littleloves

It sounds like you had a lovely holiday and just the break you needed – even if the delay at the start wasn’t great! Have a wonderful weekend x

I’m glad you had such a lovely holiday, the view from your table is gorgeous. I’ve been a little blasé about blogging too lately. Finding I’ve not updated it for three days and not caring! ^_^

Lovely reading about your holiday…bit jealous though! I’m glad you had such a nice time.
I love taking breaks from social media, each time I do it becomes harder to go back! I hope you find a way to go forward that gives you more family time.

Your holiday looks superb, the glass of wine, watching the sunset is one of our favourite memories too. I hope you find the love for your blog again. Maybe assign a couple of days or hours a week. I do less now than I did 3-months ago. It makes me sad but I need to readdress the balance! If only work didn’t get in the way! X
Looks like you had a great holiday! I get like that about my blog all the time. Infact I’m probably out of love with it on a weekly basis at the mo. Love your hat, I can never pull a hat off x
