Well, that was a quick couple of weeks wasn’t it? I’m just hoping the next three go just as fast as I am ready to finish work now. I have a really busy couple of weeks coming up with mocks for my year 12 and 13’s and end of year tests (even though they still have a term to go) for my Key Stage 3 classes which means lots and lots of marking. 11 working days and counting!
Hardly anything and I do have a little apology to make as I am so behind with blog commenting. I have been so tired in the evenings that all I have managed to do when O has gone to bed is collapse on the couch. I had put it down to general pregnancy tiredness but after seeing the consultant this week I have low iron levels which explains the exhaustion. I’m hoping once my new iron tablets kick in I’ll have a bit more energy!
Hot off the press, I have just read the email confirming O’s primary school place for September. He got in at our first choice school. I am absolutely delighted and because I cry at everything at the moment, I burst into tears!!
O dancing away in the middle of Tesco cafe. The child is bonkers!
We made some fairy cakes yesterday for the first time in a while. I have a tendency to leave them in the oven a little too long and they end up rock hard but I took these out just in time and they were lovely. The plan for today is to decorate them with funny faces.
As I mentioned last week at the end of my little loves my husband and I had a night away on Sunday in Manchester and obviously it was an excuse to buy a new dress. I didn’t want anything too fancy as we were having a late Sunday lunch but wanted to feel like I’d made an effort. I still had some Next vouchers left over from Christmas and I treated myself to a dress from their maternity range. Why so much maternity wear is stripy I’ll never know but it is a lovely material and fit nicely with my 7 month bump.
On Sunday we went to Restaurant Bar and Grill and as it was a relatively nice day we sat outside on the terrace, they did have the heaters on so it was lovely and warm. The DJ was playing a lot of retro hits from the mid 90’s which was around the time that my husband and I first met. I’m a bit rubbish at knowing the names of these songs and who they are by but they were the songs that were constantly playing in his car and they were perfect for a chilled out Sunday.
We stayed at the King Street Townhouse in Manchester on Sunday and it was such a lovely hotel. We normally stay at the Hilton when we stay over Manchester but I fancied somewhere different and we got a good deal on booking.com. The bed was honestly the comfiest bed I have ever slept in and the bath was fantastic. I’ve made my husband promise to take me back when I’m not pregnant as we didn’t get to try out the infinity spa pool on the 7th floor (and the concierge told me that if you ask nicely they’ll bring you up a glass of something sparkly to enjoy whilst your in it!)
Have a wonderful week, and see you next Friday.
