Life seems to have cranked up a gear recently and when that happens all things blog relates tends to go out of the window. Posts have been a bit hit or miss and I have struggled to find the time to write or comment and even my usual Instagram happy place has been a bit neglected. I’m probably the only person who really notices (and cares) but it’s always a niggle in the back of your mind. I started this year with lots of grand plans of writing three posts a week, and keeping to a schedule and maybe that will happen but I also need to remember that there are only so many hours in the day and sometimes I need to be a little kinder to myself.
Anyway, enough of my ramblings, here’s what has been happening this week.
Read
To be honest, not too much other than O’s reading books from school. He gets two a week and since Easter he has also been getting spellings to learn. At the moment he really enjoys the reading and writing and we try to do a little most nights. I hope he continues to feel that way as he goes into Year 1 as I’m sure the workload will be increasing.
Watched
I’ve been making an effort to have some one on one time with my biggest boy every few weeks so we left G with his Grandma on Saturday morning and I took O to watch Sing at our local Cineworld. I wasn’t too sure what to expect from the film but it was their Junior Movie for the weekend so I thought we’d give it a go. It’s a lovely feel-good film with some great songs featured too.
Made
A few life choices, hopefully positive ones but more about that lately.
Wore
A couple of new dresses as I had a job interview last week and in a bid to boost my confidence after the horrendous one from a few weeks ago I treated myself to a new dress. The only problem was I couldn’t decide between two so bought them both with the plan of taking one back once I’d had a second opinion. I’ve ended up keeping both but they are great for work.
I also bought myself some wide legged trousers but can’t make my mind up about them. My husband isn’t a fan and I can’t decide if they are too wide (if you get what I mean!)
This gave me a giggle this week. I sometimes think these parodies can feel a bit forced but I love this one, and it has been stuck in my head for the past few days.
And Lastly…
The most exciting thing to happen in the past week is that I have a new job. I have been at my current school for the past 15 years, it was where I started my career, but for a few years I have felt it is time to move on. Whilst we were trying for a baby the time wasn’t right but a great job came up at a sixth form college down the road from where I am now and it seemed too good to be true. I am very excited at the thought of a new challenge, although it does mean returning to work full time which I hadn’t planned on doing for a few years yet. After talking it over with friends and family it was too good an opportunity to miss.
Oh i love those wide leg trousers, they are so cute and i imagine they would go well with tshirts and blouses too! Congrats on the new job!

That Ed Sheeran parody is so clever isn’t it? I really hope she does more.

I’ll need them for when I’m working full time (the thought of it still scares me a little but it’ll be fine, I’m sure). Thanks Beth xx

Huge congrats on the new job and I LOVE your dress. Hmm, I think the wide leg trousers make you look bigger than you are – I think you could have different trousers that would flatter your shape more. Have a lovely weekend lovely x

Thanks lovely, I loved that dress. I only tried it onto make up the numbers going into the changing room but loved it on and it really helped make me feel more confident on the day.
The Sing soundtrack is fab, I was singing along in the cinema and I think O had his first “My mummy is embarrassing” moment! x

Love the dress. Congratulations on the new job. I’m sure you’ve made the right decision for you all.
Ooooh- congratulations on the job, it sounds fantastic. I love wide leg trousers but I think you have to feel good in them- I used to team them with heels, and now I don’t wear heels they just don’t feel the same. But I do think a new job warrants lots of new clothes!! #LittleLoves
Huge huge congrats on the job babes I couldn’t be more happy for you. And loving the outfits that dress suits you and those pants too. Wish I could pull them off. You certainly do! #litteloves
