School Trips, Peaky Blinders and New Shoes #LittleLoves

Hi Little Loves gang, hope you’re all well.  I took a break from my usual Friday post last week as, to be brutally honest, I was knackered.  Work has been crazy busy as we are hitting exam season, there is lots of marking to do and reports to fill in and as I finish next Friday I’m trying to get everything wrapped up as much as possible before I go.  I’m at the point now where everything has been taught and revised and it’s all down to past papers and practice, which other teachers in my department will be overseeing in my absence.

An invitation to go on a pre school trip with O.  Usually I receive these sorts of things with a heavy heart because if it isn’t on a Thursday (which it rarely is) we’re unable to go.  They require an adult to accompany their child so as I can’t get the time off school O can’t go either.  The date is for a Wednesday in July and I am so excited that I will be able to go with him for a day at forest school, building dens and cooking on fire pits.  My mum has already offered to look after the baby for a few hours whilst we go and I can’t wait.

We starting watching Peaky Blinders and despite thinking I would hate it after the first few minutes I’ve been hooked.  It’s the one Netflix programme my husband and I watch together and I sulked last Friday night because he fell asleep which meant I couldn’t start Season 2.  We may have to binge watch it over the next few days as the third series is starting on BBC2 very soon.

I made a bookcase!  Well, I put together a bookcase for the nursery.  A bargain buy from the Aldi baby event.  S (the husband) thinks I’m mad as he hates any form of DIY, and is completely rubbish at it, but there’s something quite satisfying about putting together furniture.  Just as long as it’s not too complicated.

On the clothes front I’m down to wearing whatever still fits over my belly and isn’t uncomfortable, which is why an email I received a couple of weeks ago made me very happy.  A lovely man asking if I wanted to work with Kurt Geiger to help promote the children’s range on their website, and to do that would me and O review a pair of their shoes.  I love Kurt Geiger, I’m still in mourning for the poor pair of beautiful green heels I wore to death.  After spending hours (and I honestly mean hours) on their website I decided on these gorgeous Liberty trainers.  As stunning as the heels were as a soon to be mum of two boys I’ve gone for a more practical option.  They are such soft leather and so comfortable and have already had plenty of wear in the past week.

I was so saddened to hear the news about the death of Victoria Wood, she was one of my all time favourite comedians and never failed to make me laugh.  I’ve heard this a lot over the past week or so and it always put a smile on my face.

And Lastly..

It’s Blog On MOSI this weekend and after being in two minds whether or not to go I did get a ticket after being on the waiting list.  Despite going for the last two years I feel a little bit nervous as I’m not too sure who is going and I’m probably a little bit self-conscious of feeling like a giant frump at the moment.  If you are going please pop over and say hello, I’ll be the 8 month pregnant one, probably sat down looking a bit worn out!

Have a wonderful week, and see you next Friday.

Victoria Wood was a legend, my husband and gem sent me a text that day saying “don’t look at the news” as he knows I loved her to bits. Obviously the first thing I did after receiving said text was to read the news!
It’s nice to see a teacher blogging, can I be nosey and ask whether your workplace know about it? Back when I was teaching they wanted me off Facebook, off blogging and off vlogging, I refused to have my life stamped on especially as they were already making me redundant. Anyhow…

Love love love the sling bookshelf how much was iut may I ask? I may have to grab one for my folks house.

Also I’d love to go a blogging event but as I’m fairly new I haven’t done any yet. Enjoy !!!!

No work have no idea, I’d feel quite uncomfortable if people from work read my blog I generally keep it quite quiet from people I know as then I don’t feel self-conscious about what I write.
The bookcase was £20 in the Aldi baby event, a total bargain and only took 20 minutes to build! x

Hello Jo. Glad to read you are keeping well, and even making plans for life after baby arrives. I’m sure O will appreciate some quality one on one time with his mum in July. Loving your new bookcase. I bought a similar one for my toddler as I was fed up of all the books ending up on the floor while he hunted for his favourite. Take care!

Thanks lovely, I’m a bit worried O will feel pushed out a bit when the new baby comes as he has been the centre of attention for so long and I’m trying to make sure that we keep his routine as normal as possible and make sure there is lots of Mummy and O time too. xx

I was so sad to hear about Victoria Wood too, I remember her always being on the TV when I was younger and I loved her Brume accent, which I must still do to this day as I married a Brummie and now have my own Brummie twang, despite being from Cheltenham. I love the bunny t-shirt, very cute and how lovely to be working with Kurt Geiger, great brand. Have a lovely weekend xxx

I would have loved a pair of their heels but I know they would end up sat in a box so I went for the practical option. They are lovely though and so comfy.
It suddenly seems so close! I finish work on Friday and then it will be a final push to get everything ready and then I can relax and wait. xx

I was like that about Peaky Blinders – until I watched it! Then binge watched both seasons. Can’t wait for Series 3! How lovely you can go to Forest School with O, they always sound so good. My little one has one trip a month at his school and I’m so lucky I can go. It’s lovely to enjoy it with him and see him with his little friends. Have a great weekend x

I’m so excited to go and can’t wait to see him with his friends and get to know some of the mums of the children he’ll be going to school with. He is thrilled too that Mummy is coming with him, he’s so used to be telling him I have to go to work! xx

I bet you are so glad to be finishing work soon. A few hours with your son at forrest school in July sounds fantastic. I too am worried about how my first born will take to the new baby and sharing my attention but hopefully we’ll both be fine. Love the bunny T-shirt. I have a similar bookcase in my daughters room and love it. The nursery is too small for one otherwise I would have picked one up in Aldi too.

I need to watch Peaky Blinders… and not just because Tom Hardy is in season 2..!! The mister and I started it a while back but he didn’t like it. I think I should just dive back in on my own.
    Hope you enjoyed BlogOn xx
