Revision, Routine and Reflexology #Little Loves

When did life get so busy? It feels like the months are flying by and I can barely keep up, I can’t believe we’re in June already.

Read

Not a lot, apart from exam papers. It’s the time of year when I do exam marking for the A-level Maths papers which makes it a really busy time of year.  I’m not sure what it says about me that I actually quite enjoy it. It’s the same paper my students have sat so it’s really useful to see how the marks are awarded and how other students have answered the papers.

The downside is that it takes up most of my evenings so blogging is on the back foot for the next few weeks.

Watched

For the reasons above I’ve not watched too much of anything this week. I’ve watched O making up his own games at bath time which is really cute to see.  Over the past few months our bedtime routine had been all over the place and baths had started to become a morning thing. Since getting back from hols I’ve put our normal bath and bed routine back into place and I’ve loved having that hour with O in the bath and sleepy cuddles after.

Heard

On Tuesday I had my first reflexology session with a lovely lady, so I heard lots of relaxing background music.  We talked through my reasons for going and she’s going to focus on certain areas to try and help. I’m not sure if it will, but it was the most relaxing hour I think I’ve ever had.  I almost floated out of the clinic!

Made

I downloaded the Deliciously Ella app a couple of weeks ago and last weekend decided to give a couple of the recipes a go. I made the orange and cranberry breakfast bars and the raw brownies and both were delicious. I think I’m a little bit in love with the raw brownies.

Oh, and Deliciously Ella herself liked by Instagram pic and I may have been a bit giddy about it! (Okay, it might not have actually been her but I like to think it was).

Wore

Sadly, thick tights, boots and scarves to work for the first half of this week which is a little depressing seeing as it’s June. Hopefully, we’ve turned a corner and summer is about to begin.

And Lastly…

Today is the last official day in school for my Year 11’s.  They had their first maths exam yesterday and the last one is Monday.  They’ve usually left a couple of weeks ago but this year my school has kept them in for extra revision. It’s been a bit of a crazy week with more Year 11 maths lessons than I think anyone could cope with but they’ve worked really hard. Yesterday’s paper seemed to go okay so hoping for another good one next week.  I’ll be very sad to see them go.

With a level exams still to be sat next week is shaping up to be just as busy but I wouldn’t have it any other way. See you next Friday!

I do like a bit of pampering myself, but don’t you wish you could just lie there and sleep for a few hours after, instead of having to float home? That’s what I always think anyway! I’m going to have to check out this Ella woman – I’m always last to the ball with everything, but her brownies look good! Have a good week missus x

Your reflexology session sounds very relaxing. I worry that they will fiddle with my feet and I’ll kick them in the face or something like that! Can’t believe it’s exam time already. I saw on the news the fury about one gcse maths question being too hard to answer. Have a lovely weekend x

Good luck to your students! Maths was always my worst subject at school 🙁 Those bars and brownies look gorgeous. I love that pic, no wonder she liked it. Have a great weekend – hope you don’t have so much marking you can’t get out and enjoy yourself for a while x

I love the raw brownies too, I’ve made them a couple of times. Little B agrees but the hubby isn’t sure. Haven’t tried anything else yet but it all looks pretty good. This i would be giddy if she liked something too-lol. Good luck to all your exam students and it sounds like you’ll need the summer break after all this work. x

Ooh I must try those orange and cranberry bars – they sound nice. I think Deliciously Ella is going to bankrupt me as I just spent like £15 in Sainsburys buying the ingredients just for her sweet potato brownies – pure maple syrup is *not* cheap!! I bet reflexology is a nice thing to have done. And I hope your Year 11s survived! My 16 year old niece has just done tonnes of exams – I’m so glad I never have to live through that again!! Hope you had a good weekend Jo X #littleloves

I really must try those raw brownies – read SO many good things about them.
Eek, A level Maths, I shamely barely scraped a C at GCSE. Hopefully the girls have their father’s genes when it comes to that subject! Hope your students do well, it must be a nerve wracking time for you too! xxx
