New Years, New Clothes & Noisy Babies #LittleLoves

Happy New Year little loves, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. We had such a lovely one, really relaxed and lots of family time with our two boys.

Read

Not a lot! I’ve been in contact with work about my return so I’ve been reading emails but not much more besides. Maternity leave will be over before I know it and that isn’t something I’m loving at all!

Moving swiftly on…

Watched

It’s become a New Years Eve tradition that we go to watch the pantomime at Manchester Opera House. This year was a little more special as two of our friends got engaged live on stage. We were all in on the surprise for the new bride to be and it was such a lovely moment.

Made

Not resolutions (I never stick to them) but I have promised myself to make a few changes this year. The biggest one is to look for the positives, something that was seriously tested when I saw the timetable for when I return to work! The positive being that with no exam classes there will be less stress (see, I can do this).

Wore

I’ve treated myself to a few new things in the sales this year. After being pregnant last winter I desperately needed a few new things and I love a bargain.

You can take a closer look at what I bought here but one of my favourite buys was this superdry Cardigan. It is so cosy!

Heard

Mostly G, he is such a noisy little thing. He doesn’t do anything quietly! I keep running upstairs after hearing the alarm and thinking he’s woken up only to find him fast asleep and grunting like a little bear.

And as for when he’s eating, I get a thorough telling off when I’m not feeding him quickly enough.

And Lastly…

We’ve had such a lovely Christmas break and whilst there has been some wonderful  presents the best part has been spending time with my boys. Lots of lazy mornings, days pottering around not doing much, teaching O to ride his first bike. G seems to have developed so much over the past couple of weeks and I think a part of that has been having so many people around him.

Happy 2017, I hope it’s an amazing one for you. xx

Oh I hope your return to work goes well – there comes a point when you know when it will be and what you’ll be doing and you just want to get on with it! It sounds like you had a lovely Christmas all together, the perfect way to finish your maternity leave!

There’s a tiny part of me that wants to find the new routine but only because it’s playing on my mind. I’ve loved being at home with my boys. I’m sure after a week it will feel like I’ve never been away! xx

He’s got so big so quickly, O seemed to be tiny for ages. You should see the size of his thighs! xx

You are so stylish I love it. I bet it’s hard to think about going back to work. Bless you darling. You will find your routine though and it will feel better once that’s established but hard to picture it all I am sure in hindsight. Looks like a lovely day for a walk. I need more of those. We spent the last week of nice weather tryign to fight jetlag unfortunately and now it’s raining. Typical. Hope you had a great Christmas Happy New Year, popping over from #littleloves!

I love that last photo. Your new cardigan looks lovely, perfect for snuggly winter days. I hope your return to work goes smoothly. Do you work in secondary education? I remember it being tough going back after maternity leave, but I’m sure it will all work out. Happy New Year! Enjoy your weekend xx

Yes, I’m in secondary education. Kids aren’t particularly forgiving when you’re adjusting to being back at work and missing your baby!
I love that photo too, taken before we all got stuck in the mud and filthy! xx

Oh my, look at your little G – he’s gorgeous and so blonde! I can imagine you’re dreading going back to work. I don’t suppose it would be any different, whatever the job. Well done on your new motto for 2017 though, there really is always something to be thankful for if we look hard enough. You might have to look VERY hard if you’re teaching secondary school children though – the fact that you don’t have any of your own yet and they go home at the end of the day?! Happy New Year. x

Happy new year. I know what you mean about dreading returning to work. Thankfully I have until June but it still feels to be going so fast. Love your new cardigan. Good is adorable. Sounds like weaning is going well, it must be nice to see him eating so well. We set off planing on purees etc but my little one has other ideas. If I’m honest I’m a little bit lot with baby led weaning which is what we’ve ended up doing but I think I’m starting to get my head round it. I’m taking my eldest to her first panto tomorrow. Just a small one but perhaps I’ll look in to the Manchester one for next year if it goes well.

I’d love to have until June, but at least I have the Easter hols and then summer hols so I’ll have some lovely time at home too. I’m starting to find my feet with BLW but trying to be as laid back with it as possible, luckily G is happy to try everything we give him. xx

I’m with G almost 24/7 so the thought of leaving him makes me feel a bit ill but he will be with his grandparents and both sets are so exited to have him so I know he’s in very good hands! Hope you and bump are keeping well. xx

I love the big knit, can’t beat them! Aww honey the return to work is never nice but on a positive note you have reduced your hours & no exams which has always caused stress. Your bye tradition sounds lovely. I hope you’ve had a nice weekend #littleloves X

Nothing better than a big chunky knit, I love the length it looks so cosy. I’m making it my mission to be more positive this year it takes some doing but changing your perspective really helps lift your mood. I hope your return to work goes smoothly x #littleloves
