Hiya, how’s your week been? I have to admit I’m loving the summer holidays and having some time away from work. I don’t think I realised how much I needed to spend some time at home being with my family and just enjoying being together. O is loving having his Mummy around all the time and it’s so refreshing to not have to worry about timings and having to be out the door, although I am more tired than I would be at work. Toddlers are hard work, I’m only getting a chance to write this now because he’s having a nap. Well, actually we were both having a nap but I woke up first. I do love the holidays.
I’ve treated O to some new books so I’ve been reading a lot of Julia Donaldson. I have to stop myself from buying a new one every time I go shopping. I think my husband will be glad when I’m back in work, less time for shopping!
I have been glued to Emmerdale this week. Oh my goodness, it was fab. I do love a good soap drama.
I also watched O on his first ever donkey ride. It was hilarious, he took it so seriously he looked like a cowboy in the Wild West, but he really enjoyed it.
With the non-existent summer we have been having thoughts have started to wander to the new season and I may have treated myself to a few new things (seriously, I need to go back to work, must stop shopping).
Hubby getting excited for the footie season kicking off again tomorrow. He is a huge Man U fan and I am preparing myself to be a football widow until May.
I’ve been making a few changes to the house over the past week. We have lived here five and a half years now and it feels like we need a bit of a freshen up. I’m slowly working my way round each room but this week the focus was on O’s room and the main bathroom.
On Monday I took a little trip to Ikea and I’m so pleased with the end result.
And I love this jar from Tesco, perfect for the bathroom, and with a lovely fresh scent too.
This summer I have made a promise to myself to get out more with O so this week we went fruit picking. We have a really lovely Farm shop a couple of miles from our house that I always forget about visiting, and they allow you to pick your own fruit. It seems most of the surrounding area had the exact same idea and there weren’t many strawberries left but we did manage to get some, and a few raspberries too. Two hours flew by and the fruit was much cheaper than in the supermarket, and O has insisted on showing it to anyone who walks in the house.
There are rumours that the sun may be making an appearance next week but I won’t believe it until I see it. Regardless of the weather we will be enjoying our Mummy and son time and I’ll let you know what we’ve been up to next week.
