Well it’s fair to say we’ve had a bit of a mixed bag this week. We’ve had some really lovely and wonderful moments and some not so much. After looking forward to O finishing school poor G came down with a cold on Saturday and clung to me all day meaning O didn’t get a particularly fun start to his Christmas break. Luckily by Sunday he was feeling a lot better but we woke up to a broken boiler so no hot water or heating, just what you want in the middle of December! Luckily, all is now fixed and everyone is well and we are ready for the big day!
Read
A menu, in peace! On Monday my husband and I stayed in Manchester (on our own) which meant we got a quiet and relaxing meal and I got to read an actual menu properly without keeping two little boys entertained.
Watched
As most of last Saturday was spent on the couch we watched Nativity 2 to get us in the Christmas spirit.
Made
I had promised O a baking day and it was a bit of a fail as I couldn’t put G down but we did manage to make these Filo Pastry mince pies (I cheated and used pre-bought mincemeat). They are to make but look pretty impressive!
Cream! Something I don’t tend to wear when I’m out with the boys but as it was just the two of us I wore one of my favourite tops.
Heard
Lots of singing at our annual village Christmas Carols in the Barn. It’s such a lovely family event and a chance to sing all your old favourites.
And Lastly…
I had a lie in, with a hot cup of tea and no Milkshake on the TV. Absolute bliss, can’t wait to go back!
Have an absolutely amazing Christmas. Eat, drink and be merry and see you all on the other side. xxx
Broken boiler, ye gods :-/ Glad it’s fixed now! Your cream top looks amazing – I’m so bad at wearing anything pale. If it isn’t my son rubbing dirt all over me then *I* spill something. Love the sound of your village carols – I’m hoping that my new village either does the same or they start next year. Hope you all have a great Christmas! #LittleLoves
I’m glad your boiler is all sorted! That cream top is lovely and the filo parcels look very impressive. Have a wonderful Christmas x #LittleLoves
I love how once you have kids wearing white and reading menus becomes a luxury – ooh and walking up stairs, what a treat! Haha, I hope you have a lovely Christmas xx

Sounds like your week got better after a bad start. Broken boilers in December with two young kids must have been horrid but sounds like you had a nice night away. Merry Christmas

Love cream on you, I don’t wear many pale colours other than my pyjamas. I tend to stick to black x
