My Best #LittleLoves Ever

Happy Friday everyone.  Wow, what a week this has been.  This was the week we finally got to share the little piece of news we found out back on the last day of September.  After three years of trying for our second child we are delighted to be able to share the news that baby number two is now on board.  You can read my little announcement post here.

We have almost not dared to get too excited about our news as it didn’t feel quite real but the scan this week confirmed that our little one is growing strong and we can start to plan for our new arrival.

Read

I couldn’t resist buying this to read to O in the Christmas run up.  I love the Sainsburys advert, don’t you?

Watched

Our little baba having a good kick and a wriggle at our scan on Monday.  The 12 week scan is such a precious moment and I felt sick all morning with nerves, terrified that something had gone wrong.  I grabbed hubby’s hand as the lovely lady placed the wand on my belly and moments later we saw our baby giving us a little wave.  Such an amazing moment!

Wore

My belly is definitely getting bigger and now that we have started to tell people I can now stop worrying about trying to hide it.  A couple of new maternity pieces are starting to make an appearance.  I bought this Jojo Maman Bebe skirt off eBay and I love it, so comfy and perfect for winter.

Heard

I’ve heard O’s reactions to Mummy having a baby in her tummy.  On the whole he has been largely unimpressed by the news, which was what we expected.  He has never asked about a brother or sister, and when questioned wasn’t quite sure he wants one now.  My favourite comments have been:

“Will it be a boy because I’m a boy?”  He’s already decided this is a boy as he is adamant he wants a brother.

“Mummy, I’ll tell you if he messes with my things!”  He might have a while before he needs to worry about that one.

Made

This wasn’t me but O made his own Lightning McQueen fairy cakes this week.  Usually I’m a bit of a control freak in the kitchen and am hovering around stressing about things being perfect, but this time I decided to sit back and let him take charge.  And you know what?  He did a brilliant job (and with minimal mess).

And Lastly…

Thank you so much for the lovely messages and comments that I received yesterday when I announced our news, so many of them brought me to tears.  Happy tears!  I know so many of you have been with us on this journey and have been so supportive through the bad times, your words and virtual hugs have meant the world and given me more comfort than you’ll ever know.

Have a wonderful week.  xx
