Love The Little Things #45

It’s been a bit of a busy week celebrating Halloween and Bonfire Night in our house.  O loved Halloween and welcoming the trick or treaters but wasn’t so keen on the fireworks.  We had to abandon our plans two fireworks in as he insisted on no more.  Oh well, never mind, there’s always next year.

Read The December issue of Sainsbury’s magazines which is starting to get me in the mood for all things Christmassy.

Watched We attempted to watch some fireworks, but had to settle for bonfire watching instead.

I’ve also watched the new Christmas John Lewis advert, how cute is Monty the Penguin??

Heard My little man starting to get excited for Christmas.  It’s so lovely to see him understanding it all a bit more this year.  Apparently he loves Christmas because “it’s beautiful and snowy!”

Made Hubby was away in Palma on Monday night and usually if he is away dinner for me consists of anything I can put in the microwave.  Breaking with tradition I actually cooked for myself and made some dinner.

Wore I’ve been routing round in my wardrobe and rediscovered my old tweed jacket.  I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with it.  I’m either completely in love with it (I went to two different Gap stores to get it in my size) or hate it and it stays in the back of the cupboard.  I have been so close to sending it to the charity shop a few times but something always makes me hang onto it.  I love the buttons and the orange lining so I think it may be getting a few outings this season.

And lastly…Next week is a very exciting week for us as on Wednesday my gorgeous little boy turns 3 and on Friday it’s my birthday too.  O was a very special early birthday present three years ago.  Plus because of a very well timed training day  next Friday at work I have a three day working week and a four day weekend to spend celebrating with the family.

Annie was the same with the fireworks! My mum and dad throw a fireworks party every year and we always end up watching it from inside! Poor Mr M and my dad are left alone in the cold lighting the flipping things! 🙂 Ooh, I love your jacket Jo – I’m a bit of a sucker for tweed! Hope you have a lovely weekend poppet xxx

Well done for cooking when you didn’t have a man to feed! I am exactly the same when hubby is away. Any excuse for a lazy day! I think you should keep the jacket, the lining makes it! Sounds like you have an exciting week ahead, enjoy, and I hope you get spoiled a little!

My kids are not a big fan of the noise of the fireworks, but love going to watch them. This year we bought them each a pair of ear defenders to help block the sound and it ended up raining so we couldn’t get to the display, typical!
Love the tweed jacket, I have been admiring one just like that for myself.
    Have a fab weekend x

Mmm you Croque Madame looks yummy! We seem to have completely missed out on the firework celebration this year (although having said that my town’s display has been put off til the 15th due to non-existent ‘high winds’ so we might still get to see some!). Happy Birthday to O and you for next week X #littleloves

Oh that jacket is gorgeous! I’m slightly obsessed with orange, even just as a lining. The croque madame made my mouth water too 🙂
