Love The Little Things #34

The holidays are going far too quickly and we are about to head into the final week.  On the plus side hubby has been off work this week so we have been on a little jolly to Wales (where I may have misplaced his iPod, he’s taking it surprisingly well) and spent a few days having a big clear out and eventually moving all the baby stuff we no longer use up into the attic.  Not exactly a fun activity but it desperately needed doing.  We couldn’t get into the garage for the amount of stuff in there.

I’m linking up with the lovely Jenny over at Let’s Talk Mommy as Morgana is off on her jollies this week.  Only a teeny bit jealous!

Read I took my holiday book to Wales with the intention of trying to finish it and it still didn’t happen.  I’ve been trying to catch up on my blog reading and loved Not My Year Off’s post Things I’ve Learnt In My Thirties.  As some one who is also about to hit their mid-30’s I could identify with all her points.  Still not sure I’m ready to move into that next age bracket though!

Watched I’ve had a bit of a retro film week and managed to watch a couple of my old favourites that happened to be on TV.  The first was A League Of Their Own last Saturday whilst O had a monster nap.  I loved that film and Geena Davis is just gorgeous in it.

And on Wednesday night I watched Cruel Intentions.  It was one of those films it took me ages to watch when it was first out and then wondered why it had taken me so long.  I love the ending!

Heard Despite spending 2 hours in the car travelling to Wales and then another 2 hours driving back with the radio on the entire time I managed to sleep most of the way so haven’t heard that much music.  I have heard O shouting “Daddy” a lot, which is a nice change from always wanting me.  Hubby works long hours so a lot of the time it is just me and O and because of that it’s always me he comes to.  It’s been lovely watching my two boys spend so much time together and enjoying hanging out.

Made A kite!  Okay, a slight cheat as we didn’t completely make a kite, but we did put it together and take it out to fly on the beach.  Funny how you forget how much fun simple things can be.

Wore I’ve been wearing my gym kit a lot this week as my Tough Mudder race is 3 weeks tomorrow (terrified) and I’ve needed to increased my training.  This morning I went out and did a 9km run, which is the furthest I’ve ran since before having O so I’m quite chuffed with myself, and knackered!

And lastly…On Tuesday I will be hosting the Britmums Carnival and would love it if you could send me your fave post of the last month to include in it.  Click the link for more details and send to  I’m really looking forward to reading them.

And finally… I couldn’t let the day go past without giving a little mention that today is my little blogs 1st birthday.  I can’t believe it’s been a year since on a bit of a whim I started Not A Frumpy Mum, and I think I’ve surprised myself that I’ve stuck at it for a full year.  One of the reasons is because of the lovely community of peeps that making up the bloggy world.

Happy Birthday to me, and thank you so much for reading and commenting.  It means the world!

Woohoo, happy bloggy birthday to you my dear. Sounds like a lovely week, like you we don’t see Daddy as much as we would like so time spent together as a family is so precious! I also love A league of their own and flying a kite is just one of those things you have to do isn’t it! We need to invest in a good kite as we always manage to break them! #LittleLoves
