The Start Of The Holidays #LittleLoves

Today is not just a normal Friday. Yes it’s Friday the 13th, but more importantly its the marks the start of February half term. The Christmas holidays are lovely, but they are always so busy it’s nice to get this week off in Feb to spend a little time doing not much at all. We don’t really have any plans for next week, out with some friends and their kids on Sunday and that’s about it. We may pop to the cinema to watch Big Hero 6 as O has never been and generally do whatever takes our fancy, can’t wait!

Read
One of my favourite posts I read this week was from Suzanne over at 3 Children and It, The Truth About Homework. As a teacher I always love to hear parents views on homework. At work one parent can complain too much is being set and another that there isn’t enough, and they can be from the same class! You just can’t win sometimes.

Watched
We saw Taken 3 this week. I was a big fan of the first, really not too keen on the second and was intrigued as to what they could do with a third. I really enjoyed it, and thought the twist at the end was quite clever.

Heard
I haven’t read the book and am not particularly interested in seeing the film but I have enjoyed listening to the song from the movie this week. Yesterday every radio station I turned on had this playing, good job I like it!

Made
I have been trying to make the effort to be a bit more artsy with O, last week we made the snowman and this week we got the paints out and made some pictures.

The clean freak in me really has to pipe down as O gets paint everywhere and insists on “helping” me with my pictures but it’s all worth it to see hi happy little face painting away.

Wore
I’m handing over to O here as I have worn nothing of any interest, and it is a slight cheat as he hasn’t actually worn it yet but I have treated him to this gorgeous Little Bird top for the spring. Even hubby couldn’t grumble too much about me spending money as he had to admit it was pretty cool!

And lastly…

Happy Half Term, have a fabulous week!

I let EJ loose with the paints this week too for the first time in ages! You really do just have to take a deep breath and get on with it! I quite like that song too but I’m in agreement about the book and film! Have a great weekend and half term hon 🙂 X #littleloves

I managed to stay quite calm until it came to clearing away and O wanted to touch all the cream units with bright orange hands. Only one vest top was ruined so we escaped pretty unharmed! x

I loved the homework post too! Having kids of school age now I just can’t believe that anyone would ever complain that there’s not enough! Mental! 🙂 I love little O’s new top! I adore all the retro designs at the moment – I’m pretty sure I had something almost identical when I was little! Happy half term lovely. Enjoy the rest! Xx

I love the little bird top. Their clothes are so cool and remind me of my ‘yoof’. They should do an adult range. Have a happy half term x

I bought the same littlebirds sweater for my two kids too! Love it. I love that little birds stuff is mostly unisex. Everyone is rocking to Ellie’s song this week I should go back and add it to join the fan club. Can’t beat her music and she is amazing in concert. Enjoy your half term together hunny. We need to reschedule that Bents coffee pronto!!!! #littleloves

How have I not heard that Ellie Goulding song before? I love it and will be listening to it this week. I’m tidy generally but when we’re being creative I just let them make as much mess as they like. Embracing it has allowed me to relax about it – it’s taken a while! Lol. Love that picture at the end! x

Oh i LOVE Ellie Goulding’s song too, it’s one of my favourites this week. Although i’ve never read any of the books, i am desperate to go and see the film with my mum and sister. The Little Bird range is always so bright and colourful, that top is adorable. Have a lovely weekend sweetie xxx #LittleLoves

I’ve never really looked at the range before but saw this top and just had to have it for O. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on what’s in it in the future. xx

I loved Taken and it’s up there in my Top 10 favourite movies, but I wasn’t that fussed with Taken 2. Interested to see Taken 3. Our half term holiday was Thurs & Fri last week and then Mon & Tues this week, so we’re now back into our usual routines again. Have a fab Valentine’s weekend and a nice holiday x

I hardly ever buy O clothes because he gets so many from relatives so a lot of what he wears isn’t necessarily what would be my first choice but I can’t justify buying him clothes that he doesn’t need. So it is nice sometimes to go and get him something that I love him in. xx

I totally agree with you about this half term being the quieter one of the bunch, which I kid of like.
My little boy has that Little Bird top – I love it, its so fun!
Such a lovely pic of your little one painting. I’m the same whenever Lucas is painting at home and need to relax a bit more rather than worrying about the mess 🙂
Hope you had a great weekend xx

I love that it’s quiet. So far this week we’ve had a lazy day on Monday, went to the cinema and had a play date yesterday and O has been out with his grandparents today so I’ve had a bit of me-time. Bliss! xx
