Wasn’t the four day weekend lovely last week? I think we were all in need of a little break from work and although we didn’t get up to anything too exciting it was so nice to have a bit of family time. We saw friends on Friday, had a little trip to The Trafford Centre on Saturday and then spent the rest of the time clearing out the nursery ready for the decorators who came yesterday to start painting. Hopefully by the end of Monday it should be all ready for the furniture to be moved in.
Another baby magazine! I’m not very original in this category at the moment, am I?
I also read a great blog post No, Mr Cameron, No from Writing Bubble about testing for six year olds. With O about to start school in September it is something that really worries me as I hate the thought of there being such pressure at such an early age.
Erm, nothing really springs to mind other than all my usuals. A few soaps, The Walking Dead and what my husband refers to as my American rubbish!
We’ve been a bit lazy with food recently, making whatever is easy or popping out for dinner because neither of us could be bothered cooking. On Thursday I decided to make an effort and made Simon Rimmers mums lasagna recipe. It’s so easy to make and is delicious, we had it with salad and a bit of garlic bread. A perfect mid-week dinner.
The dungarees arrived, and I really like them. What do you think?
I also treated myself to a new dress from Topshop as all my maternity clothes are for winter and I need a couple of things to keep me going as the weather (hopefully) gets a little warmer.
I eventually got round to making a start on updating my Spotify playlist. I deleted a few of the songs I was sick of hearing and added some new ones. I need to get some more songs put on but it is good to not hear the same songs on repeat every morning.
One of my newly added songs is this from The Vaccines, it always reminds me of a little break we had in the Lake District and whenever I hear it I can picture us there.
A little treat from my husband put a big smile on my face on Monday. He’s been so busy with work recently and I’ve been a bit tired and grumpy, the long weekend was just what we needed to spend some time together and he rounded it off with these beautiful flowers.
Finally, today is the start of our Easter hols and I can’t wait for two weeks at home just relaxing and getting the house baby ready. See you next week.
