Oh, how I love the school holidays! There have been no alarms, no rushing around, lots of lazy mornings and what has ended up being a much busier week than I had originally had planned. Here’s what we’ve been up to?
Holiday brochures! With the baby coming end of May, he is going to be too little to get a summer holiday in and O starts school in September so we are limited then to when we can go. I am desperate for a bit of sun before the year is out so we have been looking at getting a week away in October half term, although as we are limited to school holidays the prices hike up in the week that we can go!
Oh my days, I can’t not mention The Walking Dead. I watched most of the episode from behind my blanket whilst my husband repeatedly told me to stop being a wuss! No spoilers, but I can’t wait for the new series!
I’m not a very crafty person but every now and again I give it a go. Not exactly made from scratch we made our own windmill from a kit we bought from M&S. I left O in charge of decorating. Bless him, he’s not the most artistic of kids!
Nothing too exciting but we did dig out our raincoats for a trip to Tatton Park to see some of the Roald Dahl exhibition this week. I bought O this yellow jacket from M&S last year and it sat in the wardrobe as my mum bought him a similar one in red. Luckily, it still fits him now and I love the colour.
We had a little scare yesterday when I mentioned to the midwife that baby hadn’t been as active in the past couple of days as he had been and I was sent straight to the hospital. I hadn’t been overly concerned but when they get straight on the phone to the labour ward it does make you panic. I spent an hour being hooked up to the heart rate monitor listening to little mans heartbeat, and everything was fine. Typically, he woke up with all the prodding and poking and gave lots of kicks and wiggles, so he must just have been having a lazy day!
On Sunday my big man and I are off on a mini babymoon with a night away in a hotel in Manchester. I am so excited to have the chance to dress up, eat a meal without having to play cars and colour in at the same time and then stay in a fancy hotel with a super comfy bed. It may be our last chance to do this for a while so I’m planning to make the most of it!
Have a lovely weekend and see you next Friday!
