Since making a conscious decision to take a step back from blogging I have felt quite liberated this week. As I haven’t been playing linky commenting catch up every night I’ve had the chance to sit down and read some of my favourites and also not felt guilty when I’ve switched all the technology off and just sat and watched the tele with my husband.
Read
I’ve been reading (and marking) my pupils past papers. The exams officially started on Monday and panic is starting to kick in. I had a bit of an emotional moment marking all my Year 11 papers as all except 3 of them got their C in their weekly mock. A year ago it was only a handful with a C, and I felt so proud of them and how hard they have worked. I really hope they can get it in the real thing, they so deserve it.
I was a bit under the weather last weekend and on Sunday morning locked myself away in the bathroom with a hot bath and my Mollie Makes Social Media. I’ve only got as far as reading the Instagram section so far but it has given me a few new lovely accounts to follow.
Watched
On a Sunday night we have a little habit of watching a film once O has gone to bed to round off the weekend before heading to bed. Last week we watched Fruitvale Station which was the true story of the death of Oscar Grant by a policeman in America which resulted in riots across California. I really didn’t think it was going to be my thing but it was compelling viewing and even though you know what the end result is, it is still a shock when it happens. It’s on Netflix now and definitely worth a watch.
Heard
I know I’ve mentioned this before but I am still loving Ellie Gouldings Love Me Like You Do and can’t help but sing along when it comes on the radio.
Made
Last weekend I had promised O we could build and decorate his new plane that we have been sent to review by Wicked Uncle. Little note to self, always read the instructions first as we got all set ready to go and then I realised that we needed to leave the glue to set for 12 hours before we could start decorating. O took the news quite well considering.
Wore
A slight cheat as we haven’t actually worn them yet but I treated myself and O to a few new holiday clothes. I’ve never considered a jumpsuit before but I love this on and can’t wait to wear it.
And how cute is O going to look in this.
And Lastly…
O seems to be growing up so quickly at the moment and is fast becoming my best buddy. I am so proud to be his mum and am so blessed to have such a fantastic little boy.
Aww it’s lovely when they’re growing up and they become your best pals, I definitely identify with that at the moment. I love your jump suit and yes that Ellie Goulding track is fast becoming a firm favourite for us too. Great post #littleloves

Love the jumpsuit! That song is one of my faves too… And well done to little O when he couldn’t decorate his plane! Best of luck with all the exams… Sounds like you have a class to be proud of, regardless of the outcomes!

Loving your jumpsuit! You look fab.
Little Bird is super cute isn’t it? He will look adorable in that outfit.
I know what you mean about them growing up and becoming best buddies – as much as I loved mine as little ones I must admit I’m enjoying them being older.
Have a lovely weekend xx

Loving the jumpsuit, I’m glad you choose this one it really suits you. I think its often forgotten how much pressure the teachers are also under during exam time, must be so stressful. Good luck to all your pupils. #LittleLoves
So glad you’re feeling better about blogging Jo. I’m totally struggling with the whole commenting thing at the moment too. More because I feel awful if I don’t get round all my favourites! I maybe need to just let it go, and enjoy the reading, without the feeling of having to formulate a thought at the end! You look totally amazing in that jumpsuit. I seriously love it! And O’s wee outfit is adorable. I’m sure I had a towelling one of those in the 80’s. I adore a retro look! Have a fab weekend pretty lady xxx

I adore that little Jumpsuit for O – where is it from? I feel your pain with exam marking – I teach in secondary too (currently on maternity leave) heading back in July.
Enjoy your weekend,

Hope you’re feeling better now, Jo? I have that Mollie Makes magazine, and it’s brilliant, so inspiring! Definitely a keeper on our ‘magazine’ shelf. Loving the jumpsuit too, I think I will take the plunge this summer and get a couple, they always look great (and are super comfy!). Lastly, well done you on helping your pupils achieve so much- they have done brilliantly, but it’s obviously thanks to having a great teacher! xx
