It’s been a funny old week. I’ve had a terrible cold for the first half of the week and spent most of last weekend feeling sorry for myself on the couch. There must be something going round as there have been loads of kids off at school with it, and a lot of those that were in have been under the weather. We have all suffered and sympathised together.
I’ve hardly read anything last weekend as my head was so fuzzy I was struggling to concentrate on much at all. I did treat myself to a book from the charity shop yesterday which I’m looking forward to starting.
One of our guilty pleasures is watching Ibiza Weekender, we’re a little bit hooked. We had missed the past few weeks so had a catch up on the latest episodes. I can’t help but cringe whilst I’m watching it but I just can’t switch it off.
I made a visit to the Baby Show in Manchester and made a couple more baby purchases. I have bought a baby carrier which I’m hoping to use a lot more of this time round and a Poddlepod which I think I will be using constantly in the first few weeks. I love buying baby things!
Nothing too exciting as I’ve been in my comfy lounging gear. I did make a bit of an effort as we went out for dinner on Sunday as my husband had been working most of the weekend and put on my body con dress.
A song I hadn’t heard for years and I’ve heard it twice in the past week. Macy Gray, I Try, reminds me of being about 20 and I was crazy about this song. Actually I think my friends bought me the CD single (remember those?) as part of my birthday present.
O has been away with his grandparents this week so it has been a little quiet in the house. It actually was a bit of a blessing at the start of the week as work and being ill completely wiped me out and by the time I got home I was fit for nothing.
As I had known O was going to be away this week I had made plans to have a day out with a friend of mine as we both have Thursdays off. We had a mooch around one of our local towns and then went for lunch at one of the loveliest restaurants I’d been to in a while. It was nice to just hang out, without worrying about keeping the kids entertained. We definitely need to book in a few more kiddie free days.
I’ll leave you with this picture of the most amazing dessert (It was as gorgeous as it looked).
As lovely as it’s been to have a few days to myself I am so excited to have O home today and for lots of cuddles when I get home from work.
Have a great weekend and hooray for bank holidays coming up!
