Happy Bank Holiday weekend everyone. The Easter hols are on of my favourites. The weather is usually improving (although the rain outside my window is proving me a liar), and it’s not as hectic as Christmas so it does feel like a really relaxed break. As we only broke up from school yesterday this is our official first day of the hols and I am really looking forward to two weeks at home with O.
Read
My brother bought me a Spa Day for Christmas which I’m planning to use over the Easter hols so I’ve been reading the brochure and trying to decide what treatment to go for. Still can’t make up my mind.
Watched
We took O to the cinema last Saturday to watch Home. Hubby booked the 3D showing which was great for us but O kept wanting to his glasses off so I’m not sure he got the most out of it. He did enjoy it, but there was a bit of a scary moment towards the end (I won’t say just in case you’re off to see it over the Bank Holiday) and he got really scared and cried. I ended up with him cuddled on my knee whilst I explained it would all be okay in the end. Luckily, it was. Phew.
Wore
New boots. I bought these a few weeks ago in M&S sale (I really do love M&S) and was in two minds whether to return them or not. My decision was made for me when I couldn’t find the receipt but I am really glad I kept them as they have really grown on me. Please excuse the not so great pic, this was taken when I was still making my mind up about them. They don’t really go with the jeans in the photo but I have been wearing them with skirts this week and I really like the look. Even hubby admitted he liked it too.
Heard
I had a very embarrassing sing along in the car yesterday to Barry Manilow’s Mandy. I know, I am just that cool!
Made
Me and the kid made a joint effort at decorating his egg for nursery. He painted it last Thursday but he put so much on it took all weekend to dry so I added the extras on Monday night. If you ever wanted proof that arts and crafts are not my strong point this egg is it.
And Lastly…
I just have to mention these gorgeous cushions I picked up from M&S (again) yesterday. I’d spotted them a couple of weeks ago but the day after a 20% off day and I really begrudged having to pay full price, so when they had another discount day I rushed off to get them. Perfect for our bedroom.ย
And Very Lastly…
Love those cushions….now I want them! Very jealous of your cinema trip, I really want to take Amelia but don’t think she is old enough to sit still for gang length of time yet. How lovely you get to have a spa day, I really enjoyed my birthday treat spa day!! Best of luck deciding what treatment to go for, I always think a facial and massage is the ultimate treat! Happy Easter, enjoy the holidays xxx

I was worried the first time I took O but he will quite happily sit and watch something for an hour or so and it went better than I hoped. The only problem is he talks very loudly whilst he’s in there.

E’s just like that in 3D films, she just won’t keep the classes on! I know the bit you mean in Home, I held my breath at that bit and thought there is no way that can happen in this film – so pleased it worked out in the end! Enjoy the Easter break lovely xx

It’s difficult with films, isn’t it – you never know what they’re going to find scary and reviews can’t really warn you for every child’s personal fears! Mine enjoyed Home but are scared of The Gruffalo film! Hope you have a lovely week. xx
Author
O’s not that fussed about The Gruffalo either way, and he loved Big Hero 6 despite that having a few scary moments. They like to keep us guessing I suppose xx
