I’m feeling like the worlds worst blogger at the minute, in over a month I have only published one post. Whilst a part of me has missed it, it has been the right thing for me to take a little extended break. It wasn’t intentional, I just didn’t quite get round to writing anything and there always seemed to be something cropping up that was keeping me busy. That is still very much the case but I do need to carve out some time to do something for myself so I’m hoping to be back a bit more regularly.
Anyway, since I have been absent from Little Loves since the 14th October (!!) I’m going to cheat and write up what I have been loving for the past few weeks.
I read a book, actually I read two! When we on holiday (which was amazing by the way, gorgeous weather and just what we needed) I read two full books on my kindle. My favourite of the two was Behind Closed Doors, I was hooked from page one. My only criticism was that it finished quite abruptly and I wanted to know more but it was a great read.
My little boy have a wonderful time at his birthday party last Saturday. He sometimes gets overwhelmed at parties, and he was at his own to begin with, but after a little persuasion he got into the swing and had so much fun. I was running around like a lunatic trying to keep on top of things, feeding kids, drinks for the grown ups, but I have to admit I do love it. Luckily, I had a team of great mates on hand to help out.
We have made a start on weaning for the past couple of weeks and, after feeling quite nervous after O, I’ve been really enjoying it. G loves his food and I’m a lot more relaxed second time round in letting G try lots of flavours and textures. We’ve yet to find something he doesn’t like. He’s not great with finger food and prefers to let me hold it so he can chomp on it (not really the idea) but I’m sure that will come in time.
I’ve been wearing my new bobble hat from The Munch Store a lot for the past couple of weeks, it is so cosy and perfect for throwing on for the school run (I may have bought matching hats for the boys too, and yes my husband does despair of me). Some money from the sale of each hat goes to Bliss charity for premature babies so as well as looking fab you’re also supporting a wonderful cause.
Yesterday was O’s first parents evening at school. It felt very strange to be on the other side of the table but his teacher is lovely and had some lovely things to say about our boy. He’s doing really well and she commented on how well he listens and how nice he is which I already knew, but it’s great that she sees that in him too.
Monday was my birthday and we took the opportunity to get a babysitter for the day for G and we had a grown up trip to the Manchester Christmas Markets for a few drinks and then a lovely dinner. It was so nice to not be on Mum duty for the day, I may have a had a couple too many drinks and a bit too much to eat (totally bunked off Slimming World this week) but it was a great day.
Have a lovely week, I’m hoping to be back again next Friday.
