Birthdays, Bobbles & Parents Evening #LittleLoves

I’m feeling like the worlds worst blogger at the minute, in over a month I have only published one post.  Whilst a part of me has missed it, it has been the right thing for me to take a little extended break.  It wasn’t intentional, I just didn’t quite get round to writing anything and there always seemed to be something cropping up that was keeping me busy.  That is still very much the case but I do need to carve out some time to do something for myself so I’m hoping to be back a bit more regularly.

Anyway, since I have been absent from Little Loves since the 14th October (!!) I’m going to cheat and write up what I have been loving for the past few weeks.

I read a book, actually I read two!  When we on holiday (which was amazing by the way, gorgeous weather and just what we needed) I read two full books on my kindle.  My favourite of the two was Behind Closed Doors, I was hooked from page one.  My only criticism was that it finished quite abruptly and I wanted to know more but it was a great read.

My little boy have a wonderful time at his birthday party last Saturday.  He sometimes gets overwhelmed at parties, and he was at his own to begin with, but after a little persuasion he got into the swing and had so much fun.  I was running around like a lunatic trying to keep on top of things, feeding kids, drinks for the grown ups, but I have to admit I do love it.  Luckily, I had a team of great mates on hand to help out.

We have made a start on weaning for the past couple of weeks and, after feeling quite nervous after O, I’ve been really enjoying it.  G loves his food and I’m a lot more relaxed second time round in letting G try lots of flavours and textures.  We’ve yet to find something he doesn’t like.  He’s not great with finger food and prefers to let me hold it so he can chomp on it (not really the idea) but I’m sure that will come in time.

I’ve been wearing my new bobble hat from The Munch Store a lot for the past couple of weeks, it is so cosy and perfect for throwing on for the school run (I may have bought matching hats for the boys too, and yes my husband does despair of me).  Some money from the sale of each hat goes to Bliss charity for premature babies so as well as looking fab you’re also supporting a wonderful cause.

Yesterday was O’s first parents evening at school.  It felt very strange to be on the other side of the table but his teacher is lovely and had some lovely things to say about our boy.  He’s doing really well and she commented on how well he listens and how nice he is which I already knew, but it’s great that she sees that in him too.

And Lastly…

Monday was my birthday and we took the opportunity to get a babysitter for the day for G and we had a grown up trip to the Manchester Christmas Markets for a few drinks and then a lovely dinner.  It was so nice to not be on Mum duty for the day, I may have a had a couple too many drinks and a bit too much to eat (totally bunked off Slimming World this week) but it was a great day.

Have a lovely week, I’m hoping to be back again next Friday.

Happy birthday to you and your gorgeous boy, and I think you have a pretty cute reason to take a little blogging break. By the way when did he get so big, little cutie. Sounds as if you had a lovely holiday in the sun, and what a bonus getting through 2 books. Ah I love the Manchester markets and we tend to go every year. This year though we are trying the Birmingham ones. Have a great week and nice to see you back #littleloves x

So glad your boy had a great party and that you had a great birthday! That sounds like my perfect kind of day. Parents’ Evenings are the greatest, aren’t they? Hearing wonderful things about my child makes me happier than pretty much anything else, so I totally hear you on that one. Hope you have a great weekend! #LittleLoves

Ah I’m glad you managed to get out for your birthday – the perfect excuse to eat and drink too much! So many bobble hats on Little Loves this week, I’m getting jealous (I can’t rock it though sadly). Gad to hear O is doing so well at school and that he enjoyed his birthday party. Have a lovely weekend. x x

Happy birthday to you both. I took an extended break from blogging. It’s hard to keep up with a young baby and an older one too. Glad you had a nice holiday. We love the Manchester markets but we have not been for a few years. My husband works in Manchester so unfortunately he rarely wants to go back in on a weekend.

Love that bobble hat and that you got matching ones! 🙂 I hope you had a lovely birthday, and I’m so glad your little boy enjoyed his party. You’ve made me really want to go to a Christmas market now – I need to look for one near me! xx

How lovely to hear such nice things about your little one from their teacher. It must be so strange being on the other side of the table! I love the photo of you both at his birthday party, glad it went well (even if it was a little crazy). Sometimes a little blogging break is needed to bring back motivation and inspiration. Enjoy your weekend xx

Happy birthday to both of you! Sounds like you had a lovely day out on your birthday too. And well done to O for his parent’s evening. I was away from my blog for ages over summer, nice to have a bit of a break sometimes, even if it is only because you’re too busy with other things. Hope you’re enjoying your weekend x

I’ve been much less active on the blog recently too… I guess this time of year is such a busy season! So don’t beat yourself up about it! So much to do! The bobble hat is lovely… Really need to get myself a new one! A lovely round up!
