Big Boys, Songs That Make You Cry and Feeling Festive #LittleLoves

Well, December came round quickly didn’t it?  This year has flown by and I can’t believe we’ve only got a few weeks of 2015 left.  Thankfully this week, the morning sickness has started to ease off and that tiredness that hits you like a truck when you find out you’re pregnant is fading and I’ve got so much more energy.  Good timing, as we really need to start getting organised for Christmas

Now that I’m not in bed by 9pm I’m trying to spend some time blog reading.  My favourite post of the week was this one by the lovely Sian at Potty Mouthed Mummy.  The day before she published it I had such similar thoughts as I was lay in bed on with O on Sunday morning.  One day he won’t want snuggles with tea and biscuits with Mummy and it made me really sad.  Having filled in his primary school application last week I am suddenly aware how quickly he is growing up.

We’ve been getting into the Christmas spirit and spent last weekend watching It’s A Wonderful Life and The Grinch, two of my favourite festive films.  The weather was terrible so curling up on the couch under the blanket watching movies was the perfect thing to do.

I’m currently in that awkward phase where my regular clothes are a bit too tight and maternity clothes are a bit too big so I’m wearing whatever fits which doesn’t make me look ridiculous.  I did treat myself to this dress from Marks and Spencers, it is non-maternity but is very floaty and great for covering a little bump.  Plus it is so comfy!

This one is a little bit embarrassing, I heard Pixie Lott’s All About Tonight on the radio when I was driving home from work.  The embarrassing bit is when it came on I burst into tears, let me explain.  This song was out as I started my maternity leave with O, I remember singing along to it in the car with my 9 month pregnant belly.  It brought back such happy memories and because I’m a bit hormonal at the minute it made me cry.

We got a little bit crafty this week and made a penguin plate for O to take in to nursery for their festive display.  It took us several attempts to stop O’s foot looking like a smudge but I think it turned out really well.

Oh, and I may have made a couple of new baby purchases.

And Lastly…

Our tree is going up tomorrow and we have started to add a few Christmassey bits to the house.  I am so excited for the big day and we spent yesterday morning pottering around the shops which really helped to make me feel a bit festive.  Only two more weeks in school before the holidays!

Have a wonderful week.  xx

Congratulations. I’ve just announced my pregnancy through my little loves post! I think I’m slowly coming out of the tired/sick phased too. I love the plate you made together. I feel your pain with maternity wear too! I love the baby items, think I may have to buy something this weekend for ours.

Squeal baby purchases that’s amazing I am soooo over the moon and happy for you babes. I jumped for joy when I saw the news. Enjoy putting your tree up and I know what you mean I have been thinking how empty this house will feel soon when MM started school and that freaks me out. I hope you have a lovely weekend ahead. #littleloves

    Thanks for the mention lovely.

Oh those pregnancy emotions. I think songs are very fixed in time and I always associate a certain period in life with songs. There’s a few that make me cry too! Hope you’ve had a lovely weekend xxx

Oh my goodness. That little cardy!! How cute is that? Love it.
I cried at everything when I was pregnant, so I’m not surprised you cried remembering such a lovely moment. I cried at adverts! Nothing sentimental there I can tell you, haha! 🙂 xx
