Christmas Markets, Nail Makeovers & A Bit Of Cake #LittleLoves

Phew, what a week, I’m quite glad it’s Friday to be honest.  Poor G has been suffering with his teeth and Monday night was not pleasant as he woke almost ever hour quite upset.  Then O got earache on Tuesday night and couldn’t settle as it hurt him to lie on it.  Touch wood, we’re over the worst for now but I will be glad when  finishes school at 2:10 today and we can enjoy the Christmas build up as a family.

We’re still reading O’s Christmas story books and apart from that not much else.   One of our favourites is The Mouse That Cancelled Christmas and we’ve read it a few times over the past couple of weeks.

Last Friday I went and met my husband at his hotel in Manchester to make use of the hotel spa facilities.  I have to admit I felt a bit cheeky as I hadn’t actually stayed the night but he had paid for a room for 2!  Anyway, the hotel has an outdoor infinity spa pool on the 7th floor and we went and chilled in there for an hour people watching as they went about their business.  We would have stayed longer but it was checking out time, so relaxing, especially for my slightly (okay, very) hungover husband!

We then headed over to the Christmas Markets for more people watching, I just love it!

A Christmas tree.  Well, I didn’t actually make a tree but I did make it look pretty

Nothing too exciting, it’s been all about the comfort this week but I have been sporting some very fancy nails.  As part of my birthday present my husband has treated me to some pre-Christmas pampering and on Wednesday I had some false nails but on.  They are taking a bit of gutting used to but I am loving the Christmas sparkle (you can’t really see it on the photo but they have red glitter on them!)

The boys have both been wearing these super cute festive dinosaur PJ’s from Gap. They look adorable.

Far too much crying this week, I hate hearing G so upset, it breaks my heart especially as he is usually such a cheerful little thing.  I may have had to treat myself to some coffee and cake to take the edge off the lack of sleep!!

And Lastly…

Usually I’m excited because it’s my last day at work but I think I am even happier that it’s O’s last day today.  I have missed my  big boy since he started school and I can’t wait to have him home for two and a half weeks.

We have such a lovely week ahead planned, Christmas baking tomorrow, family Carols on Sunday and on Monday the husband and I are having a night away in Manchester to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary.  It’s my first time leaving G and I’ll miss him like crazy but he is with my mum so I know he will be in safe hands.  Plus we managed to get a good late deal on our favourite hotel so I can’t wait, they have the comfiest beds ever and this Mama could do with a good nights sleep!

You can’t beat the Manchester markets can you, though we have not visited this year. We will definitely be returning next year though, as it certainly gets you in the festive spirit. Aw sounds like you have had a tough week with the boys, and you definitely deserve a night away for your wedding anniversary. Enjoy your week at home with the boys #littleloves x

People watching is always so very interesting – I bet the Christmas market was great for that. I realise that sentence sounds super creepy!

Sorry to hear your little ones have been poorly of late, but I hope all is well now and you have an enjoyable Christmas holiday with them! Have a great weekend!

Aww what a festive round up. The pool sounds super and well done for joining in the fun. I’m so sad not to have visited the markets this year, I do miss the Santa! This time last year I worked in Manchester, although I’d rather not be doing that I did love walking through the markets. I love your nails honey. Have a really lovely week together X
