The Forever Home: Extension News 3 {Three Months In}

The original plan was to blog more regularly about the extension but a delay with the steelwork meant there was quite a delay in any building work happening on the house.  The builders focused on the garden and creating our sunken seating area but I soon realised isn’t too much to say about a great big muddy hole.

We’ve been out of the house for the past four weeks, the long awaited steelwork went in the week after we left and since then the house has really come on.

The exterior walls were completed, the existing back walls to the house have been knocked down and last week the most exciting delivery so far came, our bi-folding doors were installed.  The doors of my dreams!  They are amazing and I love the space that we have created.

We are still waiting for the glass panels that will form the roof over the dining room table and the window overlooking the garden so the house is still exposed at the moment.

I’m going to let the pictures do the talking for most of this post as they paint the picture of what has been happening at lot better than my words do.

Extension Day 98

This week is another very busy week for the house, with the electrics starting to go in, the bedroom floor being finished and I think the kitchen may be being delivered, although it isn’t being installed just yet.

Work is starting on the interior and that’s when I can start to get my hands dirty, so to speak. I’m really looking forward to sharing with you my ideas for the new rooms and to show you the end result.

After weeks feeling like we were never going to finish it is very quickly coming together and we all can’t wait to be back home.

    It’s really coming along so well hunny, I bet you can’t wait for it to be finished. Makes family live a bit of a chaos when the house is renovating but so worth it. We are about to build into the loft and I can’t wait for it to be done to decorate. Can’t wait to see how you decorate this space and what it looks like finished. #wrc
