I know you hate me calling you baby boy. You are always so quick to tell me you’re not a baby, you’re a big boy. As you turn 3 today, you are certainly a big boy, my love.
At 6:24am three years ago you eventually made your entrance. Even back then you could never be made to do something you didn’t want. You get that stubbornness from your dad. Okay, and a little from me too!
I remember sitting in my hospital bed just staring at you and how amazing you were. I still do that now sweetheart, because you really are amazing. Every day you make me and your daddy so very proud of you.
I love how affectionate you are, how nobody can leave the house without a kiss and a cuddle. I love how you tell Daddy off if you think he hasn’t given me a long enough cuddle. My favourite time are when we’re snuggling on the couch close to bedtime and you will pipe up, “I love you mummy!”
I love how well you communicate and your manners are impeccable. Your memory is incredible, which doesn’t always work in our favour, but you remember everything.
You love planes, trains and cars and will watch racing cars for as long as we let you. You’re never happier than when playing with a ball, any ball, and you have come on so much at Rugbytots over the past 6 months.
You know when you’re being cheeky and have me wrapped around your little finger, but to be honest, I really don’t mind. I love that you are still a bit of a Mummy’s boy, although I adore watching the relationship between you and your dad grow stronger every day.
You are certainly a little chatterbox and although I maybe half asleep, I love the little conversations we have when you wake up at 5:30. Even if they don’t always make that much sense.
Over the next few months your routine will be changing. I’m so nervous about you starting pre-school in January as it feels like you’re making those next few steps to become even more independent. Something that you will love, one of your favourite phrases is “I do it myself!”
The past three years have been wonderful and I love that I get to be your Mummy.
Happy Birthday my fantastic little man (and, just so you know, you’ll always be my baby!)
