Introducing Moon and Star

Moon and Star

One of my favourite times of the day is bedtime.  Not because I’m glad to get O into bed but because it’s story time and I love reading my son his bedtime story.  It’s our time to cuddle up together in his bed whilst we read a book together.

O has a few favourites that he asks to be read again and again, Stick Man and Ten Wriggly Wiggly Caterpillars I have read more times than I care to remember, but generally he likes to hear new stories and loves a new book.  When I was a kid my parents would always buy me a new book on a Friday as a treat and I loved having a new story waiting for me and so I can completely see where he is coming from with wanting to hear a new adventure.

I could never begrudge buying O a new book, one of my favourite things is to spend time choosing a new read, but it can be a little pricey to be constantly buying books.  Whilst I have bought books from car boot sales and charity shops I love having a brand, spanking new book that nobody else has read before me.

Moon and Star are a brand new website that specialises in children’s book all priced under £5, with many titles being cheaper than Amazon at only £1.99 or £2.99. They regularly curate new lists of books for shoppers to choose from and as a newsletter subscriber you will receive details of when new books are added.

The monthly books cover age ranges from 0-12 and vary between hugely popular books such as The Gruffalo’s Child to some that are less well known, such as Under The Spell Of The Moon, a collection of children’s poetry from all around the world.  They also have plans to introduce a selection of first edition books to the website which would make a perfect Christening or first birthday gift.

One other feature that Moon and Star have on their website is a birthday reminder service.  Since having O (and whilst being pregnant) my memory is terrible and anything that gives me a helping hand is more than welcome.  You can enter the birth date, when you would like the reminder sending and also for which age range the gift will be for.  Moon and Stars will then send you a reminder on the date you chose and with a selection of selected books for you to choose from.  It couldn’t be simpler.

Sometimes I can get a little overwhelmed when choosing books as there are often so many to choose from so I love the idea of having a smaller number pre-selected and can then pick a couple of favourites to order and I was really impressed with the choice that Moon and Stars offered from their monthly range.  I think it’s a great way to update your book collection and to discover some new stories that may have passed you by.

As a little thank you for reading, the lovely people at Moon and Stars are offering you lovely people a 10% discount for the first 50 of you that place an order, using the code NOTFRUMPY10.  Pop over to their website and take a look!

What a great idea. Some children’s books now are really expensive, so it’s nice to find somewhere with decent prices. May have a look and see what I can find for Bo.

That sounds like such a great idea, will definitely check the website out. Lucas loves his bedtime stories but I have noticed he needs new things to read more often now, I think even he is getting bored when it used to be he would choose the same thing for two weeks! I usually have a stash of new books ready for presents or treats so this website sounds perfect xx
