House of Frasers Menswear Review

It’s a running joke between my husband and I about the state of his wardrobe.  He’s a man who thinks he’s being colourful if he’s wearing white.  The rest of his clothes are mostly blue, black or grey.  I have actually lost count of how many grey jumpers he owns.  Last Christmas I bought him a cardigan to add a splash of brightness, it went down like a lead balloon (and still remains in the bottom of my wardrobe as I missed the deadline to send it back).

When I was recently contact by House of Fraser to review an item of their menswear it seemed the perfect opportunity to add a bit of colour to his wardrobe.  House of Fraser is a shop that we are both huge fans of.  Whenever we head into Manchester we always pop into Kendalls and, before kids, we would spend hours browsing the floors.  I love that they have such a wide variety of brands under one roof, as well as a mixture of clothing, home wear and beauty.

Despite being a shop we always visit I rarely pop onto the website.  For some reason I always forget to look online and it was good to have a reminder to go on for a nosey.  They have so much choice on the House Of Fraser website and the fantastic brands that are instore are all there.

I handed the laptop over to my husband and asked him to pick something he would like.  After several hours (and it really was hours, there is so much choice) browsing he eventually chose…a black jumper.  It is a very nice black jumper but my attempt to break him out of his clothes habit had failed.  In his defence he argued that he would rather choose something he knew he would wear rather than something that would hang in his wardrobe.  I suppose he has a point.

He chose a black Calvin Klein Sabah Sweater which is currently on sale with 50% off.  You’ve got to love a bargain!  It is a lovely thin knit jumper (100% cotton) and will slot perfectly into his existing wardrobe.  It is quite slim fitting which is something he prefers and makes a great smart casual outfit when paired up with his jeans.

As it is quite a thin jumper it is perfect for this time of year but could also be layered over a shirt when the weather turns a little colder.  I’m sure the jumper will be an Autumn/Winter favourite this year and for many more to come.

Disclosure: We were sent the jumper for the purpose of this review but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
