Love The Little Things #5

It’s been a pretty good week so far. Lots of lovely family time and a few more steps taken to hopefully increase our family. This is what we’ve been enjoying:

Read
Other than reading Little O his bedtime story I’ve hardly read at all this week. We’ve been reading an old favourite of ours which was bought as a present from a friend of mine when O was born. It’s a another Julia Donaldson book, Rabbits Nap. A lovely story that’s quite short, so perfect for when he’s sleepy and wants to head straight off to dreamland.

Watched
The new series of Outnumbered returned on Wednesday, which me and hubby love. It’s so funny seeing the kids now compared to when the programme first started. It feels like you’ve watched them grow up, I suppose we have!

Heard
Bizarrely, we’ve been listening to Aqua’s Barbie Girl this week. At O’s nursery they were playing it to the toddlers during dance class and O seems to have taken a bit of a shine to it, so we’ve been playing it at home and he dances along.

Made
We’ve been on a bit of a health kick this week so trying to eat well. On Tuesday I made Portobello Turkey Burgers, which were yummy and no bread involved! The only slight hiccup was that I slightly undercooked them and they had to be blasted in the microwave for a few minutes before we could eat them.

Wore
This week we went shopping for my belated Christmas present off my husband. We headed off to Cheshire Oaks as they have a fantastic Mulberry outlet shop and he treated me to the most gorgeous bag. I love it, and have been “wearing” it ever since!

And lastly…
This week I got to have a bonus day off. Monday was a Teacher Training Day at my school and as I only work 4 days a week I am allowed to miss one of the training days so chose this week to take the Monday off. My husband also took a days leave so we had a lovely family day which was such a treat.

I think I’m actually in love with the bag!
It was nice to be able to go on a Monday, it was so much quieter than the weekend, although I’m not sure the 2 year old is a big fan!

It can happen. I have felt that kind of love before for a bag. It truly becomes apart of you. hahaha Sad but true. Ya, my two kids are not fans either but it’s a small price to pay for the bargains!!!

Ooh Mulberry! How lovely! Really must go to Cheshire Oaks, haven’t been there for so long.
Those portobello turkey burgers look good, We’re trying to cut down on our carbs at the mo, so that’s something I need to try.
    Thanks for joining in xx

We are huge fans of those flap books too in this house. Foxes Socks is probably the favourite at the moment but Postman Bear is up there too πŸ™‚

I have a slight addiction in buying books for O, I think Postman Bear will be the next one for the collection.

What a great week – I love Rabbit’s Nap! We chose it on a trip to Waterstones in York, where we had a wonderful time. I like the comic pictures.

Lovely Daughter #2 reminded me that Outnumbered was on – I must catch up.

Barbie Girl seems to be a bit of a perennial favourite amongst the youngsters. The other thing that never seems to go away is MC Hammer’s Can’t Touch This – kids love it.

Outlet shops are the best! That’s a lovely bag.
