Love The Little Things #19

Wow, what a fab week it has been. It kicked off in Manchester on Saturday celebrating a friends 40th with drinks followed by gorgeous food in Neighbourhood. We were there so long chatting and supping champagne (courtesy of the birthday girls husband) we got asked to leave as we had hogged the table too long and the next booking was now running 30 minutes late. Oops!

Read The cocktail menu in Cloud 23. I started off with champagne tasters, followed by a fancy gin cocktail which I can’t remember the name of. I love the views of Manchester being up on the 23rd floor.  When I’ve been before it’s always been at night so it was great to be there during daylight hours, and I can’t believe how busy it was.  The afternoon tea looked delicious.

Watched I feel like I’ve barely had time to watch anything this week but I did head over to Mrs Cool Bananas blog to check out her Bibs post, and was treated to a video of some very special dance moves.  If you haven’t already, it’ll be worth it!)  Fab video lovely lady!

Heard Lots of amazing advice from some fabulous bloggers at Blog On MOSI.  I loved the Photography session the most.  Lucy from Capture By Lucy was so inspirational and I have spent the week obsessing about photography as a result.  I also listened to Vanessa from HPMCQ who opened my eyes to the world of Photography Apps.  So many I’d never heard of but do fantastic things to your photos.  I fear I will lose hours of my life tinkering with photos, before and after taking them.

Made I’ve been a bit inspired this week and have tried to make more of an effort to give O some more exciting lunches.  There’s only so many times I can give him boiled eggs and toast soldiers!  So I made him up his own little Bento Baby  lunch.  Surprisingly it took less time than a normal lunch would make and he loved it.

Wore On Friday afternoon I had a mild panic that I had nothing to wear to the girlie afternoon on Sunday.  Emergency shopping was needed!!  I headed to M&S and Next on Friday afterwork, couldn’t find a thing I like.  No panic I’ll pop into town Saturday morning, still left empty handed.  As a last ditch attempt, when hubby took O to Rugbytots I hopped across to the shopping centre opposite and headed for New Look.  I was chuffed to bits to find a lovely dusty pink top that was perfect to match a necklace I already own and these fab shoes.

And lastly…I couldn’t finish without mentioning what a wonderful day I had at Blog On on Sunday.  I had been, quite frankly, terrified of going.  It’s one thing chatting to people online but meeting them face to face is a very daunting thing.  I had nothing at all to worry about, the other bloggers were lovely and I got to hang out with our very lovely host Morgana (butwhymummywhy) and the gorgeous Jenny (Let’s Talk Mommy lady).  Thanks for being my dinner buddies ladies.  I also had the honour to meet Lucy (Capture By Lucy), Katie (MummyDaddyMe), Collette (We’re Going On An Adventure), Hayley (Hayley From Home), Kerrie (Wife, Mum Student Bum) and Emma (Farmers Wife and Mummy), and lots of others that I’m running out of space to name.

The only downside is I’m now even more disappointed I can’t make Britmums!

Shoesies = amazing!! Totally coveting. Your cocktail afternoon sounds like the stuff of dreams too – I never can decide which one to choose! :) Oh, so wish you were coming to BritMums JoJo! :( Will miss you being there!

I’m in love with the shoes, wore them all weekend and a bargain at £17.99! The cocktail afternoon was bliss, I never know what to pick so we asked the waitress for a recommendation. I was not disappointed!

I’m so jealous of you Britmum folks. Hubby has been very supportive of my blogging (well, he rolls my eyes and calls me a geek, but you get what I mean) but ditching him on his birthday is not very cool, is it?

Next year I’ll be there with bells on :-) xx

It was so lovely meeting you on Sunday, I’m gutted that you’re not at Britmums!
The bento lunch looks fab, I really need to put more effort into E’s lunches. Both girls lunches are thrown together in the morning just before we head out the door! xx

O’s lunches are usually whatever is left in the cupboard, thought I’d try something a little different and he loved it.
Have a gin for me at Britmums :-) xx

You are so sweet Jenny, and just as lovely in real life. Haha, have you seen me trying to get all proppy? It’s a lot harder than it looks and I keep stressing about not liking the lighting. Hubby walked in from work the other day to find me standing on top of the kitchen work tops trying to get a good shot!
I love Cloud 23, and hadn’t been in ages either. We used to go and stay in the Hilton quite often before having O but haven’t for a couple of years now. Might to time to try and get a couples night away x

Oooh love those shoes, so pretty. I went to Manchester with a pal in November and we wanted to go to Cloud 23 for a drink but the queue was too long – boo!!! Jealous of all the fun people had at blogon! xxx

It was so lovely Sian, you’ll have a great time at Britmums. The queue for Cloud23 can be horrendous. If you’re staying in the hotel they let you bypass the queue, which is a bit of a bonus xx

Those shoes are lush! I got sick of making boring old lunches for Charlie too, so I’ve started doing something similiar – the childminder must think I’m nuts! x

Love the shoes! I tinker about with Bento now and again, I was surprised how easy it was and Lucas loves it. Like you I can’t stop messing around with photos now after Blog On, I’m always tinkering on my phone, I love your props and photos, they look fab xx
