Happy Friday, and I would normally be celebrating the start of half term now but seeing as I’ve already been off work for three weeks I’ll make an exception. It already feels like I have been away from school for ages, funny how quickly you adapt to a new normal.
I missed last weeks Little Loves as I have to admit I have been completely wiped out. I’m not sure if it’s the fact I’m a little bit older this pregnancy or whether my iron levels are still a bit low but I am definitely a lot more tired this time round than I was with O. I suppose I’d better just get used to it with a newborn on the way!
My attention span is pretty poor at the minute so a book is out of the question but I have been flicking through a couple of baby magazines and trying to read a few more blog posts. The next step is to actually go back and comment on them!
O was desperate to watch Angry Birds from the moment he watched the first trailer for it so we had a little Mummy/Son date on Sunday to go and see it. I’m not saying it’s the best film I’ve ever seen but we had a chuckle and the boy loved it.
I made the final few touches to the nursery and, aside from waiting for the nursing chair and a side table, it is all ready for our new arrival. You can see a few more pics here.
At almost 39 weeks pregnant my wardrobe is not the most exciting of things at the moment but I have started to think about my post-bump clothes. I treated myself to this top from Boden (which turned out to be a bargain with a 25% discount code and the lovely Boden folk had sent me a couple of £10 vouchers so it was just over a fiver!) and I can’t wait to wear it. I’m hoping the ruching helps to hide my mum tum. I bought this pinafore dress in the M&S sale a few months ago and I think they go quite well together.
As I won’t be able to drive for a few weeks post c-section I have been making the most of being off and catching up on a few lunch dates with friends, which means I have been hearing all the gossip and have a good old natter. Yesterday our poor waitress had to wait almost half an hour for us to place our order as we were too busy talking to even look at the menu!
This will be my final Little Loves post as a mummy of one. Our baby boy will be arriving at some point next week (I’m keeping the actual day to myself for now in case we get delayed for any reason) and I can’t wait. We had our final scan yesterday and seeing his little squishy face made me even more excited to meet him for real. It’s been one hell of a journey to get here and it still feels very surreal that we are almost at the end.
