A couple of weeks ago we submitted our extension plans to the local council.  We are now waiting for them to send out the appropriate letters to our neighbours and for them to reach a decision (keeping our fingers crossed for a YES).  One of the reasons for our house plans is that it feels that the boys toys and games are taking over the house, especially after Christmas and O’s birthday. My mum has always been a keen decorator.  I don’t think there is a room in her house that lasts much longer than a year without getting a full revamp, my poor dad is constantly painting and papering.  The one constant in my old home though is flowers.  My mum will always have a couple of bunches of gorgeous flowers displayed, usually in the hall and in the back room. January is my least favourite month.
