A Night Alone

Tomorrow night me and hubby are dropping Little O off at his grandparents and heading off on our first night away on our own since he was born. This was booked in 2 months ago and I have been super excited ever since. I adore my little man, he’s amazing, but I’m looking forward to being just a couple for what will be about 24 hours.

This is what I’m looking forward to the most:

Free reign of anything I want on the menu
Little O is at the in-between age where he’s too old for baby food pouches but a bit too young for his own meal so we end up making him a little plate up from whatever we’ve ordered. Anything I order must be O friendly too, and even though he’s open to most things I tend to choose what I know he’ll like because the more time he spends eating the less time he will have to cause mischief.

Using my grown up bag
A few years ago hubby treated me to a beautiful Mulberry handbag and since O came along it rarely gets an outing as it’s kept for best. My everyday mummy bag is full of toys, nappies and Pom Bear crumbs and it’s staying at home!

A long jacuzzi bath
Nothing else to say, except joining me will be a large glass of wine and a crappy magazine

Eating a meal out past 6pm
We’ve learnt through painful experience that trying to take O out for anything past 6pm ends in disaster. Even going at 6:20 is just that little bit too late and as O gets tired he gets grouchy. I’m planning to still be in the bath at 6pm!

Sunday morning lie in
O’s quite a chilled out little dude but he does wake relatively early and will watch tv in our room for about half an hour before wanting to get up. This weekend there will be no Milkshake on, time for at least 2 cups of tea in bed and a good read of the Sunday papers.

Being able to spend time getting ready to go out
As opposed to throwing on a bit of make up whilst simultaneously trying to stop O throwing everything off the top of my chest of drawers!

We will no doubt spend about 80% of the time talking about our little boy but I can’t wait to spend a bit of quality time with the older man in my life!

I’m so giddy, and hubby is happy as whilst I’m jacuzzi bathing he gets to do the manly thing and drink Guinness in the bar reading the paper. Can’t wait for the lie I without having to watch Noddy!
Enjoy your Saturday day out! Lunch minus kids = lots of wine (well, at least for me it does) I get a bit too excited and have zero self control! x

So romantic isn’t it – you are going away together but most looking forward to doing nothing on your own lol! I would be exactly the same.
Oh and of course it will involve lots of wine, what do you take me for! πŸ˜‰ x
