Little O is a bit of a chatterbox. What he says isn’t always the clearest or makes the most sense but he gives it a go and generally I understand what he’s saying, and those around us have learnt his language too. I have to admit I’ll be a bit sad when he learns the proper words for some things as his version of them always makes me smile.
A few of my favourites are:
“Uh oh” which means dog (we have 2!) So funny when he’s telling them off, “no no uh oh!”
“Inky” means water. I think this is our fault as we always say to him “do you want a drinky?”, but it now represent all water. Even his cousin uses it now when talking to O.
“Cuckoo” which stands for milk, obviously. No idea why!
“Key” which is cheese, took us a while to get this one and he would get so frustrated with us for not understanding.
Yesterday we had the most magical three (okay 2) words from him. We’d just come home from the pub and I was telling O we love him, which I tend to do A LOT, and I asked if he could say I Love You. My heart absolutely melted when he said it back. Okay, it sounded a lot like “wuv woo” but I know what he meant and the big smile on his face showed he understood too. I’ll never get tired of hearing those special words from my little man, so precious!
Ahh so lovely – F is 3 and a bit now and uses it all the time (well quite a bit anyway) and it always melts my heart 🙂
At the moment Little O is only saying it to repeat what I’m saying, but it will be so lovely when he says it by himself!

I love ‘appo’ (hippo), ‘wah wah’ (bird) and ‘oof oof’ (dog) 😉 It is so very precious!

Our youngest says, “wuvyoutoo” mummy – my middlest says, “I love you” a lot, and I reply, “I love you too”. Youngest thinks that is the phrase to say. Very cutre
We still say Oosh for shoes. I’ve got teenagers now. Then again they would probably regard me as one of those embarrassing mums…

Sigh… It does feel magical, doesn’t it?
So magical. Since writing this, he now says “I love you Mummy” and without being prompted. It’s as wonderful as the very first time he said it!
It is so special especially when its comes out the blue!
